Mae walks back to her room, thinking about Liya's piece of advice. "I've felt more anxious than happy with Robin. There are times he's made me feel good, but there are many more times he's made me feel insignificant."
She enters her room and looks at her disheveled bed. "Meanwhile, Ashton… He's always been so affectionate and warm towards me. The way he looks at me, the way he holds me as if I'm something precious, the way he kisses me with desire but consideration, the way his body reacts to mine and vice-versa…" Mae trails off into an endless string of thoughts with her heart beating out of her chest as she imagines Ashton with her.
"And I'm back to square one," sighs Mae.
Mae's phone rings, interrupting her thoughts. "Hello?"
"Mae?"
"Robin? What number is this?"
"I called you multiple times but you wouldn't pick up, so called from an unknown number since you were avoiding me."
