Each of the 7 women had their own ideals. They were of different appearances and birth. They did not care for one another and actively sought to eliminate each other as most instances. However, the did have a common goal.
Alex.
Alex's eyes did not cause lust but something close to obsession. The girls were all obsessed with him, with protecting him, with spending time with him. They didn't necessarily need to have sex with him or children. Though they often messed with him in his sleep, the never went so far as ****. They wanted Alex to be willing and only did things to him in his sleep that he might allow if he were awake. Certainly nothing that he would be horrified for having discovered doing. Uncomfortable, yes, but not crossing that particular line.
As a matter of fact, they didn't really care about lust. The goal was simply to spend as much time as possible with him as close as possible to him. To feel him. That is why the hated each other, because they took time and space away from one another.
The elf, who had raised him, wanted him to lay in her lap as she brushed his hair. She had watched over him for a long time and though her love wasn't necessarily familial, she would be perfectly content if it stayed that. She was strong when she met him, but she let him get out of her sight and more people surrounded him, people who had as much talent as her, people who took time away from her and grew as obsessed as she was.
The human princess, who was a prodigy in every sense of the word. She was insanely skilled at the sword, but couldn't overcome the barrier that was cultivation realm as she was kidnapped. Fortunately, due to the organization trying to frame the elves and start a war, Alex had noticed and rescued her. He became her idol and then her object of affection.
The spider who was an outcast. Alex had come across her in the woods and had looked at her without fear. She, who had only known that look of disgust, was grateful and that gratitude turned to desire.
The maid who melted into the shadows. She had lived her entire life without purpose, just fading in and out of shadows as she looked for someone of her own kind. However, Alex had given her a home and to him she gave her everything.
The wolf who wanted recognition became a loyal follower of Alex after an incident that happened while she was young. She later desired to become his pet at the very least, and spend her days curled up beside him.
The demon destined for greater things who had disregarded trying to reach a higher heaven, despite her insane talent. She had wanted to be alone, to live her life in peace, but when war came to her door in the form of humans, Alex was the one who stopped them.
And the angel who was originally the strongest of the 7. She had watched him the longest, but due to special circumstances, was unable to get involved until after the other six had caught up to a similar realm of strength.
All seven had known Alex at varying times at varying strengths, but they met each other when they were of a similar strength. In short, unlike most, they could not kill each other.
So... a treaty was formed. They would limit their attempts on each others live to brief sneak attacks and not hold any prolonged battle. They would get stronger and work to protect Alex. They would also make sure that nobody else noticed him and had a similar level of strength as them, they would kill anybody who got close.
The seven of them had each missed out on a chance to spend their time alone with Alex. However, their greatest fear was that more people of similar strength or stronger would come and take him from them. Take their time. Take their beloved.
As such, they killed any woman who took an interest in Alex. They kept each other in check and set up rules so as to not anger one another. They wanted to kill each other, but as long as they got their time with Alex, everything would be fine. They researched his eyes and their emotions, discovering the mystery that lay beyond. And they sought to keep him confined to the 1st heaven, just so that no extra woman would take even more of the precious seconds that they allowed each other to spend with him.
The problem was... Alex wanted to get stronger. He wanted to ascend. He wanted to explore. And in trying to keep him in the 1st Heaven, they exposed some of their true nature, causing Alex to panic and attempt an early ascension instead. Even worse, in their obsessiveness about Alex and his eyes, they chose not to tell him about the side effects, paranoid that he'd change because of it. Should they have told him, he probably would be much better off, shielding his eyes and perhaps even choosing not to ascend.
But they didn't.
And now... they face the consequences.
