---Genshin Impact, Liyue Harbor---

Primis stood at the precipice of the Platform of the Jade Chamber, where the relentless wind whipped around him, sending his long, flowing hair—a striking blend of black and white—dancing wildly in the air. Clad in the resplendent Black White Emperor's Attire, he exuded an aura of regal power and poise. His face remained serene and composed, embodying the essence of a ruler who commands respect and reverence. His dignified presence was so profound that those gathered below could do little more than avert their eyes, bowing their heads in a mixture of respect, admiration, and a deep-seated sense of submission before His Majesty.

However, Primis's divine gaze was not fixated on the Mortals below or the figure looming behind him. Instead, it was drawn to the vast expanse of the Horizon, a canvas painted with the colours of the twilight sky. To the casual observer, he appeared to be savouring the breathtaking scenery, but, in truth, his sight transcended the mere physical realm. It pierced through the very fabric of space-time, navigating through the myriad of obstructions that lay in its path, until it landed upon the enormous structure known as the "Stairway to Heavens" nestled within his pocket world.

There, within this mystical tower, his gaze delved even deeper, traversing the infinite cosmos, slipping past the boundaries of the universe and the multiverse alike. It journeyed through countless layers and barriers, weaving its way through the intricate tapestry of existence until it finally pinpointed one particular world. In that instant, he became a silent witness to everything his Abyssal Princess experienced—her struggles and triumphs, her joys and sorrows—as if her every moment was playing out before him like a vivid tapestry of life.

'Primis: Your adventure is just beginning, Lumine. Ahead of you lie a series of challenging obstacles that will test your strength and determination… Embrace each moment, learn from every trial, and rise to conquer them all… When you emerge victorious, you will find US waiting for you at the end.'

He turned his gaze away, lost in thought, before finally speaking.

Primis: Ais.

Ais: Yes, My Lord.

The air shimmered and twisted, and in the blink of an eye, an exceptionally enchanting blonde woman emerged, her presence nearly ethereal as she materialized soundlessly behind him. She was the Sword Princess, his first and most devoted blade, radiating an air of calm strength. Like a noble knight, she stood patiently, elegance in her posture and unwavering loyalty in her gaze, awaiting the slightest signal from her Lord to spring into action.

Primis: Soon, WE will rewrite and create a new Universal System.

Ais: Eh?

This caught her off guard as she had fully anticipated that Primis would deliver the next directive. However, shaking off her surprise, she quickly regained her composure and asked.

Ais: But why, My Lord? I don't think there is any issue with the current System.

Primis: That's where you are wrong. In truth, the current Universal System is flawed.

Ais: Flawed? How so?

Primis: On which Level do you currently stand?

Ais: 9th-Dimensional God.

Primis: Here's the crux of the issue: Ais, the Universal System, has labelled you as a 9th-Dimensional God. However, this distinction doesn't automatically make you a true 9th-Dimensional Being. There's more to it than it appeared.

Ais: 9th-Dimensional Being…

The woman reflected on all the knowledge she had accumulated throughout her journey to attain her current strength. Despite her efforts, she could not find any information about the so-called 9th Dimensional Being. Even her sister, Sheng Ming, was unaware of it. This made her wonder about Big Sister Ophis. However, as soon as that thought crossed her mind, she dismissed it. She understood that if her Lord knew something, then Big Sister Ophis must also be aware of it.

'Ais: Could it be that I'm an 8th-dimensional being? I can't help but doubt that. If that were the case, surely the Lord would have mentioned I'm just one step down. But since that wasn't said, could it imply that I might actually be at a lower dimensional—perhaps the 7th, 6th, 5th, 4th, or even just the 3rd?'

After some thought, she decided to ask directly, as she didn't know much about dimensions.

Ais: Then which Dimensional Being am I, My Lord?

Primis: Sixth.

Ais: Sixth. Huh… Not too low, Not too high.

As the blonde was murmuring under her breath, Primis, who heard this, couldn't help but shake his head inwardly.

'Primis: Girl, It's essentially impossible for a 2nd Level Existence to evolve into a 5th Dimensional Being, let alone achieve a higher state. The maximum level a 2nd Level Existence can reach is 4th Dimensional Being, and even that is quite challenging for them to attain. If they truly wish to progress beyond this point, they must rely on external means, such as systems, high-level skills, or assistance from higher existences. Therefore, for 2nd Level Existence, becoming a 4th Dimensional Being is the ultimate limit.'

Sighing, he continued.

'Primis: The reason that you, WE, and some of OUR subordinates can surpass those dimensional limits is that, after being reborn and undergoing the baptism of Origin Force, we are not merely 2nd Level Existences. Instead, we exist between the 2nd and 3rd Levels—higher than the 2nd Level but not yet at the 3rd Level.'

Ais: What about you, My Lord?

She asked, her curiosity piqued, even though she felt she already knew the answer. Deep down, she was convinced that Primis had to be even more powerful than a 9th Dimensional Being. But just as her thoughts soared with possibilities, Primis doused her excitement with an unexpected dose of reality.

Primis: WE are also a Sixth Dimensional Being.

Ais: …

Seeing the dumbfounded expression on the Sword Princess's face, Primis couldn't help but smile slightly, a gesture unseen by others.

Primis: What? Are you expecting something else?

Snapping out of her thoughts, she looked at his back and answered.

Ais: Yeah. I thought you would be higher…

Primis: Well, if WE want, WE can take the next step and directly become 9th Dimensional Being right away.

Ais: Huh?... Then why don't you? … Don't tell me, Lord, you are not interested---

Primis: No, there is no such thing. In the first place, if WE want to go higher, WE must continue becoming a higher Dimensional Being.

Ais: Then…

Primis: It isn't time. WE have a plan that must be in motion. Until then, WE are just delaying OUR evolution into a higher being, that's all.

Hearing this, the blonde let out a sigh of relief.

Ais: I see. That's good to hear.

She said before a solemn expression appeared on her face.

Ais: In that case, why does the Universal System use Dimensional God to label strength? Isn't it just a hoax?

Primis: Indeed, but here's something intriguing you might not know: the Universal System isn't the product of the Universe, its Will, or any Higher Existence. No, it was crafted by the strongest True Demi-God in history.

Hearing this, the woman frowned.

Ais: The Strongest True Demi-God… Why did they create something this flawe---

Her voice faded into silence, and a look of shock crossed her face as the realisation struck her.

Ais: Don't tell me… it's intentional.

Primis: Correct.

Hearing Primis's confirmation, she closed her eyes and slowly started piecing everything together.

Ais: If the fourth-dimensional being represents the limit of second-level existence, then this individual must have also reached that level. However, they later realized that even higher levels exist… Despite their efforts, they failed to discover any means of reaching these levels. Yet, convinced of their existence, they created this Universal System to ensure that other lifeforms would not learn about these higher levels or attempt to reach them. Why? Because they feared the emergence of an unparalleled genius. What if such a genius were born and managed to attain that higher level? What if that person found a way to transcend them? They could not accept this possibility. Having held the top position for so long, they were unwilling to let anyone usurp their throne.

Primis: Exactly.

While Primis praised Ais for her sharp mind, the woman's expressions, on the other hand, had taken an ugly turn. She never expected there to be such a conspiracy behind the creation of the Universal System.

Ais: My Lord, who and where are they?

Primis: They are dead.

Ais: Dead?

Primis: Yes.

After replying, Primis erased the smile from his face, allowing a chill to seep into his expression as it shifted to one of cold indifference. His gaze hardened, and an air of forbidding authority surrounded him, casting an icy spell on those who dared to look upon him. In that moment, his formidable presence radiated a palpable intensity that could freeze the blood in one's veins and send shivers down the spine.

Primis: You've probably come across the saying, "While one can endure the trials sent by a higher power, no one can escape the consequences of their own making." A poignant reminder that our choices have a profound impact on our lives.

Ais: ...

Primis: In their relentless pursuit of immeasurable strength, they ventured too far and touched something… Forbidden. This transgression set in motion a catastrophic chain of events that led to their inevitable downfall… And as they met their tragic end, they did not merely vanish; their reckless ambition ensnared several other Worlds in the chaos of their demise. How foolish. How utterly pathetic. What exquisite folly.

As Primis shook his head in pure disappointment, Ais, behind him, also couldn't help but nod inwardly.

They fell quiet, their voices fading into the charged air as they lowered their heads, eyes fixed on the turbulent scene unfolding on the battlefield below. The sounds of clashing steel and distant cries echoed, while chaos reigned and the landscape shifted rapidly, painting a stark picture of the conflict.

.

.

.

.

Liyue Harbor was in turmoil, a far cry from its usual serenity. Storm clouds gathered on the horizon, casting a shadow over the bustling trade hub, where whispers of unrest skittered through the streets like a chilling wind.

The once vibrant and flourishing port city, cradled between towering mountains and a boundless azure ocean, now lay cloaked in the grim shade cast by the ravages of war. The air was filled with the sharp clang of clashing blades, mingled with the heart-wrenching screams and desperate cries for help that echoed through the streets like a haunting symphony of despair. Along the coast, several once-majestic sailing ships, their hulls punctured and their tall masts once gracefully adorned with beige, vertical sails, now languished in a state of ruin, slipping beneath the surface of the ocean as if seeking escape from the chaos above. The wooden piers and docks that had once reached out eagerly toward the water, facilitating the ebb and flow of trade and commerce, now lay in tatters, remnants of their former glory barely visible amidst the obliterated landscape.

What had been a once-clear, vibrant turquoise sea, which lent the scene an air of serenity and openness, now bore a ghastly hue of crimson, staining the waters with the essence of despair and hopelessness. The unyielding transformation of the cityscape was further illustrated by the absence of the elegant stone and wooden bridges that had formerly graced the waterways. These bridges, with their gracefully arching forms, connected various parts of the city and offered a passage to the lush green hills that framed the horizon. One such bridge, once a proud structure embellished with traditional green-roofed archways that symbolized an important gateway, had now vanished, swallowed by the devastation.

The buildings, once vibrant structures adorned in striking shades of orange and deep brown, had stood proudly against the sturdy gray stone foundations that anchored them. Their pagoda-style towers reached towards the sky, while traditional halls welcomed visitors with open doors. However, now these proud edifices lay in utter ruin, their once lively exteriors faded into obscurity. Debris and shattered remnants litter the landscape, a reminder that the community that once thrived within these walls has been tragically silenced.

The formidable, rocky mountains no longer provided the same protection and sense of grandeur as before. Water cascaded violently from a high cliff, unraveling in a tumult of white foam — once a serene waterfall, it now seemed a chaotic force reflecting the turmoil that gripped the land. The surrounding landscape, which had flourished throughout the seasons, now lay stripped of its autumn splendor; the bright oranges, yellows, and greens of trees that had previously adorned the region were obliterated, replaced with a stark and lifeless panorama. Atop a forlorn rocky outcrop, the small watchtower, once a vigilant sentinel for security and navigation, now stood as a mere shell of its former self, littered with pieces and fleshes of the corpses of the soldiers who fought to protect their land to the bitter end. The tragedy of this once-thriving city resonated through its blood-red waters, a heart-wrenching reminder of the price of conflict.

.

.

In the rugged terrain of Mountain Hill, two girls stood facing the menacing horde of Man-Eaters that surged toward them like a dark tide. The air crackled with tension as the monstrous figures, relentless, charged forward, their eyes gleaming with hunger. Their sharp teeth, claws, red eyes, and bulging muscles truly made them even more menacing.

Yet, despite the intense gaze of the formidable creatures surrounding them—eyes glowing with a predatory hunger—the girls stood their ground, undeterred. Their expressions were resolute, marked by a calm intensity that spoke volumes about their strength. There was no tremor in their hands or quiver in their voices; instead, they exuded an unshakeable confidence. As they engaged the monstrous foes, the fire in their eyes shone bright, reflecting an unwavering determination to fight back against the looming danger. The air around them crackled with the energy of their defiance, and in that moment, fear was a distant thought, overshadowed by their fierce will to survive.

These two girls were none other than the 7th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Hu Tao and the Head Chef at the Wanmin Restaurant, Xiangliing.

Once upon a time, these two girls were known for their vibrant laughter and boundless energy as they darted through the bustling streets of Liyue Harbor, embracing each moment with joyful exuberance. However, the relentless tide of war has washed away those carefree days, leaving only shadows of their former selves.

Now, the innocence and lightness that once characterized them have been replaced by an air of solemnity and resilience. The weight of pain, loss, grief, and sorrow has carved deep lines into their spirits, shaping them into individuals who possess an undeniable sharpness and maturity.

Their eyes, which once sparkled with childlike wonder, now reveal a profound wisdom forged in the crucible of hardship. They have emerged from the chaos as formidable women. Clearly indicating that they not only survived but also evolved, standing strong amid the tumult of their past.

SWISH!!

CRACKLE!!

As the Man-Eaters jumped at Hu Tao, the girl swung her polearm coated in the Pryö element to knock them away, then stepped forward and covered the distance between them. Without giving them any chance to react, she thrust her weapon forward and penetrated their heart.

PSH!!

By the time she pulled back her spear, crimson liquid burst out like a fountain, covering her whole body and making a chilling sight. Yet, the girl's expression remained blank as she left a part of her Pryö element in the body of Man-Eater, which soon engulfed it in flames.

THUD!

Ignoring the fallen, charred corpse, Hu Tao side-stepped and dodged the incoming claw before swinging her weapon, cutting the arm of the creature. As the Man-Eater howled in pain and recoiled, the spear had already made its way to its neck.

SWISH!!

PLAT!!

THUD!

A moment later, the head and the headless corpses fell. The Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor stepped her foot on that head and stomped it.

CRACK!!

The skull burst like a watermelon, covering her foot with a mixture of red and white fluid. With no change in her expression, Hu Tao raised her foot and kicked the chest of another Man-Eater nearby.

BAM!!

The force behind that kick caused the creature to cough up blood as its ribs broke, and it was thrown back into the horde of Man-Eaters, causing them to fall due to the impact.

With a sudden burst of energy, she leaped high into the air, evading the lunging Man-Eaters that had targeted her. Suspended against the backdrop of a chaotic sky, she expertly shifted her body to gain extra momentum, propelling herself further before descending right into the heart of the horde.

BANG!

The unexpected landing took the swarm of dolls by surprise. In that fleeting moment, before they could attack, she summoned a Blazing Spirit with a commanding gesture. It materialized at her side, swirling around her like a fierce tempest of heat and light. The spirit swiftly converged into a swirling tornado of roaring flames, igniting the air with an intense heat that engulfed all the unsuspecting creatures surrounding her, transforming the scene into a whirlwind of fire and chaos.

.

On the other battlefield, Xiangling could be seen dancing in the battlefield with her polearm, taking one life after another. Her stabs always found their way to the vitals of these Man-Eaters.

Unlike Hu Tao, who adorned her spear with flickering Pyro energy, the girl took a different approach. She unleashed a spear, engulfed in fiery flames, twirled around her, creating a blazing whirlpool she called a pryonado. This fiery cyclone not only provided a fierce barrier against the encroaching creatures but also launched scorching attacks that singed anything within reach. The air around her shimmered with heat, and the ground was scorched, leaving an ominous aura of destruction in her wake.

To ensure that her pryonado wouldn't consume too much of Xiangling's precious reserves or dissipate too quickly, her companion Guoba stood vigil at her side. With each fiery breath he released, flames leaped from his mouth, merging seamlessly into the swirling inferno. His flames were eagerly consumed by the pryonado, keeping it spinning infinitely, an unyielding shield and a relentless weapon in their battle against the Man-Eaters that surrounded them.

Yet, amidst the uncertainty and tension, a few reckless souls charged at her, driven by a fierce determinism that overshadowed their fear of the consequences. These individuals were the very reason whispers of war coursed through the streets of Liyue Harbor; their audacity was matched only by their violence. They bore the grim distinction of having claimed the lives of the most soldiers, and now, their mere presence cast a shadow of unease over the bustling harbor, leaving the citizens on high alert.

Why? Because even if these creatures' torso was separated from their body or their head were severed, they used the last bit of their consciousness and strength to scratch or bite at the people, trying to take their victims with them. If even they failed, they succeeded in doing a superficial damage, and that was enough to change the course of battle most of the time.

Truly a suicide squad.

That's why the moment they did so, Xiangling put her entire focus on them and stopped fighting the others. Next, she stabbed her spear into the ground and used it to raise herself off the ground. It was also the moment when those Man-Eaters got hit by a pryonado that was revolving around and fell to the ground. Without letting go of this opportunity, Xiangling, who was still airborne, hastily pulled out her spear and stabbed the creatures' heads one by one.

STAB!!

STAB!!

SPLURT!!

SPLURT!!

Every time she pulled out her polearm, blood burst out.

THUD!!

Finally, when she landed, the creatures were dead, and their bodies started burning in the flames.

Still, she didn't pause even for a second to rest and charged towards the rest of the Man-Eaters. The battle was far from over.

.

.

.

A Few Hours Later.

Xiangling perched on a weathered rock, her brow furrowed in concentration as she meticulously wiped the crimson stains from her spear with a handkerchief. The fabric soaked up the evidence of her recent battle, its white surface contrasting starkly against the deep red. Behind her, Gouba lay peacefully asleep, a small cloud of mist fading from his nostrils as he leaned softly against her back. He had used too much of his reserve in the battle.

Her surroundings were covered with the corpses of the Man-Eaters they had slain. Many partial body parts, such as limbs, heads, guts, intestines, lungs, flesh, veins, red and white fluid, tumors, and many more, can be seen. It was such a gory and grotesque sight that if weak-minded people witnessed this, they would start vomiting on the spot. Not only that, but they will also have trauma for the rest of their life.

Hu Tao, in contrast, was meticulously scanning the landscape around her, her sharp eyes darting from shadow to shadow. She was determined to ensure that every creature lay truly lifeless, rather than some merely feigning death in a cunning ruse to ambush her and her companions. The air was thick with tension as she observed the slightest rustle in the underbrush, ready to react at a moment's notice to any sign of danger lurking just out of sight.

As she surveyed the surroundings, her grip tightened around the polearm, its surface gleaming with a fiery pyro-coating. With deliberate precision, she lowered the tip of the weapon to the ground, where it ignited and traced a winding path of vibrant flame. The flickering embers danced and shimmered in the air, leaving behind a vivid trail that spiraled outward in intricate circles. Once her artistry was complete, the encircled area erupted in a roaring blaze, consuming everything within its fiery grasp, illuminating the darkness with an intense, crackling light.

CRACKLE!!

In the midst of flickering firelight, the temperature around them surged, enveloping the area in a sweltering embrace reminiscent of being inside a roaring oven. However, Xiangling and Hu Tao remained undeterred, their figures illuminated by the warm glow. As adept Pyro users, their affinity for flames rendered them almost impervious to the searing heat that would have made others sweat profusely. It was as if the very fire that danced around them fed their spirits rather than stifled them, leaving them comfortably at ease in their fiery domain.

Once done, Hu Tao walked over to the Xiangling, who let out a tired sigh.

Xiangling: Again… We both are the only ones who survived.

Hearing this, the director of Funeral Parlor also couldn't help but let out a weak sigh before taking a seat beside the chef.

Hu Tao: Yeah. Still, it was because of those soldiers that we were able to hold on until the end.

Xiangling: Yeah.

She answered softly.

As Primis's student, Ningguang couldn't let Xiangling face the perils of battle alone. Therefore, she consistently dispatched a contingent of soldiers to accompany her into the fray. On the surface, it appeared that these warriors were there to lend their might and expertise, but their true mission was far more somber: to safeguard Xiangling's life, even at the ultimate cost of their own. Tragically, after each fierce clash, the battlefield was left deserted, the soldiers having fallen, their sacrifices offered up in vain.

This grim reality weighed heavily on Xiangling's heart, filling her with profound guilt. Determined to honor their bravery, she exerted herself to the utmost, pouring in her soul and strength in the hope that her efforts would somehow alter their fate. Her relentless dedication fueled her rapid improvement, making her a formidable opponent. Yet, this silver lining came with a dark twist; the Man-Eaters—her merciless foes—were astutely aware of her growing prowess. With each battle, they escalated their numbers, launching even more formidable assaults to thwart her progress.

In the end, despite her unwavering resolve and ironclad spirit, Xiangling found herself unable to save a single soldier, each fight concluding with a heart-wrenching sense of failure and despair. The cycle of sacrifice and loss continued, trapping her in a loop of guilt and determination that seemed impossible to escape.

In that quiet moment, Hu Tao gently placed her hand atop Xiangling's, a silent gesture of support that spoke volumes. Xiangling, her eyes wide with surprise, initially opened her mouth as if to voice her gratitude, but instead, she closed it softly and, with a grateful smile, intertwined her fingers with Hu Tao's, gripping her hand tightly. The weight of their struggles had been heavy, filled with relentless battles and challenges that would have overwhelmed anyone else. Yet, through it all, there always remained the unwavering presence of her two dearest friends, Hu Tao and Guoba.

If it hadn't been for their unwavering support, Xiangling knew she might have crumbled long ago under the pressure. But she was not alone in this; Hu Tao and Guoba felt that same strength drawn from their friendship. The bond among the three had grown so robust that they had become each other's emotional pillars, a sanctuary of trust and understanding.

As their fingers remained clasped together, a warmth spread between them, creating an unspoken promise of solidarity. In the stillness, both girls shared a gentle smile, leaning into each other, seeking solace in their closeness. Together, they found comfort and warmth, cocooned in the knowledge that whatever storms lay ahead, they would face them together.

Still, good times were always short-lived.

Xiangling, Hu Tao and Guoba, who had been resting to recover their strength, suddenly opened their eyes and stood up.

In the distance, a towering Man-Eater loomed, each of its deliberate steps resonating ominously against the ground. The air grew heavy with a palpable tension, and an icy dread crept into the hearts of the two girls as they instinctively tightened their grips on their weapons. The creature's very presence radiated a malevolent energy, sending shivers coursing down their spines. As they observed its movements, they realized this Man-Eater was unlike any they had encountered before; it exuded an aura of primal power and cunning. Fear coursed through them, sharper than any blade, urging them to flee. Their instincts screamed a warning that echoed louder than their reason—this was not a foe they could hope to confront.

???: You two have struggled enough. It's time to meet your doom and become our food.

The Man-Eater licked his lips with a fevour expression as he looked at them.

Next, he stomped his foot hard on the ground and charged towards them.

---Jade Chamber---

As Primis and Ais looked on at the confrontation between Xiangling and Hu Tao against the Man-Eater, the Sword Princess spoke.

Ais: That Malevolent Energy that he was emitting… It's Adeptal energy, which is twisted to make it darker and sinister, almost like Abyssal Energy.

Primis: They really do succeed in obtaining it. And the price they paid was worth it.

Primis had long since gained insights into the continuum of time and acquired extensive knowledge. The Council of Eaters was responsible for overseeing the entire population of Man-Eaters. This Council comprised the strongest Man-Eaters in history, with each member achieving Adeptal status. However, due to their inability to harness Adeptal Energy, they were unable to ascend further. Regrettably, during their stagnant, one member of the Council discovered a forbidden technique that enabled the extraction of Adeptal Energy from the Adepti.

Upon extraction, this technique allowed for the transformation of the energy into a darker form, thereby appropriating it for their own use. However, the implementation of this method necessitated numerous sacrifices, including those of humans, allogenes (also known as vision holders), and Adepti. Ultimately, the Council succeeded in its endeavors, but its ranks diminished to a mere three members. Despite the reduction in number, the quality of these remaining members increased, as they each acquired the energy that was originally intended for the other members. Thus, Primis remarked that while the Council of Eaters achieved its goal in acquiring this power, the price paid by the Man-Eaters was deemed worthwhile.

The disparity in strength was staggering, leaving no doubt that Xiangling, Hu Tao, and Guoba stood little chance against the formidable opponent before them. However, they were not without allies.

In the distance, four figures were moving swiftly through the chaos of the battlefield. It was Ningguang, her graceful demeanor juxtaposed with a fierce determination; Keqing, eyes sharp and focused, radiating an aura of electric energy; Yelan, stealthy and elusive, her presence both enigmatic and strategic; and Xiao, the enigmatic adeptus, embodying both serenity and power. Together, they rushed to join the fray, ready to tip the scales in this critical moment.

Primis then turned his gaze toward the second battlefield, Jueyun Karst, a breathtaking expanse of rugged beauty filled with towering cliffs and lush greenery that turned red with the blood of their enemies. In the distance, he spotted the formidable figures of Moon Carver, the master craftsman of the earth, Mountain Shaper, the one who molded the very landscape, and Madame Ping, the wise elder with a gentle demeanor yet fierce resolve. They were engaged in a tense encounter with the enigmatic Second Member of the Council of Eaters.

The Emperor's gaze only lingered on it for a moment before he finally turned to the last battlefield. The one taking place in the heart of the Liyue city. The one his Battle Maids were responsible for.

'Primis: It will be really painful for them.'

Cloud Retainer, Shenhe, and Ganyu stood amidst the aftermath of their confrontation with the Man-Eaters, their breaths still heavy from the exertion. The remnants of the battle littered the ground, but it was the mother and daughter they had saved that captured their attention. Huddled together and trembling, the two figures emerged from the confines of a rusty barrel, their gaunt faces and sunken eyes revealing the toll that days without nourishment had taken on them. It was painfully clear that the lurking threat of the Man-Eaters was not their only peril; starvation had silently stalked them, a cruel companion in their dire situation.

Fortunately, Ganyu had come prepared. From the depths of her bag, she produced a small stash of dry rations, carefully acquired with points from the Pocket World. Though the provisions were scant, they were a lifeline for the fragile mother and child, enough to give them the strength to endure for a couple more days. Ganyu's gentle demeanor brought a flicker of hope to the weary pair as she handed over the meager supplies.

After providing clear directions to a nearby shelter and reassuring them that the path ahead would be safe from further threats, the mother's gratitude shimmered in her grateful gaze. With a soft smile and a heart uplifted, she took her daughter's tiny hand in hers and stepped cautiously away from the remnants of their fear, the weight of relief mingling with the uncertainty of what lay ahead.

As the pair disappeared into the distance, the Half-Adeptus couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

'Ganyu: Too bad, YOUR MAJESTY had made it clear that the point system can only be used in the Pocket World and not outside. If it does, I would be able to do more.'

Though Little Cocogoat felt a pang of disappointment tug at her heart, she couldn't shake the belief that there had to be a deeper reason behind Primis's actions. With a quiet resolve, she decided not to dwell on her feelings. After all, if there truly wasn't any reason, who was she to question the ways of the divine? It was beyond her understanding to judge what her Lord deemed right or wrong.

Cloud Retainer: This area is cleared. Let's move on to the next one.

Shenhe: I am tired, Master. I want to rest first.

The daughter of the exorcist approached one of the partially destroyed benches that lined the side, its once-vibrant paint now chipped and faded. Gently, she lowered herself onto the splintered wood, an air of weariness clinging to her despite the strength she still possessed. Cloud Retainer observed her closely, her keen eyes narrowing in scrutiny. It was clear to her that while Shenhe's breaths came in slightly irregular bursts, the fatigue was not enough to warrant a genuine pause. In fact, the energy emanating from her was undeniable; her elemental reserve still brimmed with more than 80%, hinting that she could continue for hours without issue.

Cloud Retainer: Shenhe, I know you're feeling disheartened by the state of Liyue. However, we can't afford to pause. Every moment we hesitate, the Man-Eaters continue to claim innocent lives that we should be defending.

Ganyu: I see your point, Cloud Retainer, but I have to side with Shenhe on this one. Taking a break now might be the smarter choice, allowing us to gather our strength for what's ahead. It's a harsh truth, but we can't save everyone. Let's focus on making a real impact when it counts!

Cloud Retainer: Ganyu, I'm curious—what exactly happened over the past years that led to such a change in both of you?

Shenhe: ...

Ganyu: ...

The girls sat in silence, not because they lacked the desire to respond, but because the wealth of their experiences had rendered them momentarily speechless. They had witnessed an array of extraordinary phenomena that defied simple explanations. Among these, they recalled the formidable warships adorned with intricate patterns, collectively known as the "Fleet of Fog," gliding silently through the mists, their presence both awe-inspiring and enigmatic.

They thought of the indomitable spirit of the people of Inazuma, who had demonstrated incredible resolve, fighting fiercely for their homeland until the very end. Each clash echoed with the determination etched in their hearts as they stood against overwhelming odds.

The vision of the Imperial Palace was still fresh in their minds. It was an awe-inspiring sight, grand and majestic, as if it had materialized from a realm beyond their understanding. The palace loomed high above, an architectural marvel that seemed to bridge the boundaries of universes, suspended within the infinite loops of space and time.

Then there was the momentous occasion of their Lord's ascension; the coronation ceremony had been a spectacle of grandeur. As he took the throne, he became the ruler of the Three Realms: Heaven, Human, and Hell, a responsibility that was both weighty and profound. This pivotal moment marked a turning point in their history, one that they would recount for generations to come.

The creation of the pocket universe was another unparalleled feat achieved by their Lord—a vast realm that appeared to stretch endlessly in all directions. Floating islands adorned with vibrant flora hovered just out of reach, appearing so near to the eye yet impossibly distant when one attempted to draw closer. It was a world where the ordinary laws of physics seemed to bend and twist, inviting awe and wonder.

In the midst of it all, they envisioned the City of Teyvat, a thriving haven where the remaining inhabitants of Inazuma and Mondstadt could find solace and happiness. Life flourished within its vibrant streets, resonating with joy and laughter, as communities came together to rebuild and thrive in this new era. The memories of these extraordinary events were etched deeply in their minds, each a testament to the resilience and tenacity of their people. And this was only the beginning of their incredible journey.

Ganyu: Maybe next time.

Cloud Retainer: Hmmm.

Seeing that they had no intention of explanation, the Adepti could only snort in annoyance and looked away.

With that, they spent a few minutes regaining their peak condition before standing up.

Cloud Retainer: Let's continue.

Ganyu: Um.

Shenhe: Wait…

Cloud Retainer: What now, Shenhe?

Shenhe: One second, master… Ganyu, do you remember the gift we planned to give to master?

Ganyu: Gift? …Oh, that. But didn't we decide to give it when this war is finished?

Shenhe: I also have the same intention before. But… I am afraid that if we die, it will be too late to give it.

Ganyu: *sigh* I suppose you're right.

The Cocogoat then went through her pouch and out something.

Cloud Retainer: A Doll?

Shenhe: A Plush. It's very soft to the touch and has an inbuilt system that will work as a heater in winter.

Ganyu: Well, it's not much for Adeptus like you. However, I still hope you won't say no to it.

Cloud Retainer: What are you saying!? This one will treasure any gift that our daughter and disciple will give her.

Ganyu: Thank you.

Saying the Half-Adeptus presented the plush to Cloud Retainer and stepped back.

It was a round and chubby plush with a predominantly red and white color scheme. It has a small, adorable face with two round eyes, rabbit-like ears and an upside-down "V" shaped mouth, giving it a simplistic yet expressive look. Just as Shenhe said, it was soft and cuddly, allowing the person to fall asleep while hugging it.

Cloud Retainer: It's cute. This one liked it.

Shenhe: If you pull its ears, its face will turn red as if it is angry, and it will start releasing heat.

Cloud Retainer: So that's what you mean by it has a heater.

Saying she gently pulled the ears, as Shenhe had instructed, the face began to turn red, and heat started emanating from it.

Cloud Retainer: Wow! It's really good. I appreciate this gift.

As she was nodding her head happily, she noticed something.

Cloud Retainer: Why is it becoming more and more hot? Shenhe, Ganyu, how do I turn this off?

Ganyu: Oh, to turn it off, you have to--- uh… Shenhe, what was it again?

Shenhe: *sigh* How could you forget something this simple?

Ganyu: Sorry.

Shaking her head, the girl looked at Cloud Retainer, which was still holding the doll that was now shining bright.

Shenhe: Master, squeeze its body, and it will turn off.

Cloud Retainer: That's all?

Shenhe: That's why I said it's so simple.

Nodding, the Cloud Retainer squeeze it, and the light emitting from the doll dies down.

Cloud Retainer: It's incredible.

She then pulled out its ears, and the doll started shining again before it died when Cloud Retainer squeezed its body. She did it three more times.

At this moment, Shenhe and Ganyu had walked ahead. Seeing that the Cloud Retainer was not following, they glanced back.

Shenhe: Master, let's go.

Cloud Retainer: Let me try it one more time. It's just too addictive.

The plush started shining again at the pull of the ears. When it reached the limit of its brightness, Cloud Retainer squeezed its body. And then…

KA-BOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A cataclysmic explosion detonated with a deafening roar, unleashing shockwaves that rippled through the fabric of the air. The sheer force of the blast obliterated nearby debris, reducing once-solid structures to nothing more than fine ash that danced like dark, swirling clouds in the aftermath.

The city of Liyue quivered in response, its cobblestone streets trembling as if they were caught in the throes of an earthquake. The shockwave surged outward like a monstrous tidal wave, further ravaging the already fragile buildings, causing them to sway precariously before surrendering to the chaos. A thick, choking cloud of dust and debris enveloped the surroundings, shrouding the sky in a grim haze and blanketing the ground in a thick layer of destruction.

While this happened, the two girls responsible didn't even glance back; they just talked to each other nonchalantly.

Ganyu: Amazing. As expected from the bomb made by one of the former Knights of Favonius.

Shenhe: Indeed. I still can't believe that a little girl can make something like this.

Ganyu: Well, back when she was in Mondstadt, Jean had her locked up since her bombs could be pretty dangerous. But after YOUR MAJESTY adopted her as one of her daughters, she basically got free rein and was totally spoiled. With the full backing of YOUR MAJESTY, no one could stop her from experimenting with her bombs. Because of that, she discovered all sorts of ways to make her bombs even better.

Shenhe: Though, from what I have heard, this was her first five-layer bomb. Though I don't know the mechanism, she told me that it was still not a finished product and was unstable.

Ganyu: The thing is, when you're working with a lot of high-quality explosive material, you can't really toss it around. It's likely to blow up in your hand instead.

The girls are casually talking with each other as if they came for a stroll, ignoring the devastation behind.

After several tense moments, the swirling dust behind them began to settle, transforming the chaotic scene into something eerily still. The girls finally turned to face the middle of the crater, where the wounded figure of Cloud Retainer lay. Yet, upon closer inspection, it became clear that this was not the true Cloud Retainer at all, but rather an imposter cleverly disguised to deceive those around it. The creature's faux form shimmered faintly in the fading light, casting an unsettling aura over the desolate landscape.
