I quickly make my way to the little library. When I step into the street, I make sure to keep my head down. I run up the few steps and into the open door.

There are not a lot of books inside the library.

A very old lady is sitting behind a desk, reading a book. There are shelves fastened to the walls that hold a few books. They are not marked like they are in modern days.

There is a shelf with fiction books and then there is a shelf with medical books. There is also a table with newspapers on it. This must be the saddest library I have ever seen.

"Good day," the old lady greets me. "This is a nice surprise. Are you new in town?" she asks again.

"Just passing through." I tell her politely. Her face falls and she turn to go back to her table.
