KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN

It is already the following morning when Brent returns to the hotel room where we are booked in. He comes into the room quietly. He undresses and hangs his clothes over the other wooden chair in the room. It is only when the bed dips next to me that I wake a little realise that he has returned.

Brent moves closer to me. He puts his arm around me and falls asleep instantly.

The bed is not at all that uncomfortable as I thought it would be. It is not the best bed I have ever slept in but it is not the worst. Brent snores quietly. I close my eyes and fall asleep again.

When the sun starts to shine through our small window, I wake again. I get up and have another quick wash. It is really hot out here. I get dressed and start to tidy up the room.

Brent wakes. He gets out of bed and washes his face without saying a word. Usually, I am not the morning person. He used to smile and talk a lot right after waking up.  I look at him with one eyebrow raised.
