A scary story 1/2

Sakura woke up in a wooden chair, she could feel the pain in her chest even though it had already ceased. Raising her eyes she saw a beautiful blue-haired woman sitting on a grey throne made out of stone, the woman had the same blue hair she remembered seeing a few seconds ago when she woke up form the worm-induced trance due to extreme pain.

The woman had a serious expression on her face, making her look slightly intimidating.

"I am sure you have a few questions, but now is not the time, I would rather pass the moments we have with a story, you like scary stories right?" asked the woman in front of her, changing her serious expression to a kind smile.

Sakura didn't understand what was going on, she could feel her connection to the worms inside her had been cut off, besides she also felt the woman in front of her was strong, so she chose to stay still for now and listen.

"I do." answered Sakura with the same emotionless expression she feared when she wasn't around Shiro.

"Good, I have quite a few of those." said the blue-haired woman with the same expression on her face. It made Sakura feel strange, the only one who looked at her with this type of kindness was Shirou after all.

"Well there once was a small girl who wanted a doll, the doll was truly beautiful so her mother thought about buying it for her, however she wanted to make sure her daughter would play properly with it, so she made the daughter promise that she would play with the doll always."

As the blue haired woman began telling the story, her expression changed from one of kindness to what could be considered an attempt of making a creepy face, though it came out as a weird expression.

"The little girl agreed readily, after all the doll was so pretty she thought she could play forever with it. Days quickly turned into weeks and the girl kept playing with the ball, eventually however, she outgrew the doll and no longer wished to play with it, instead she wanted a ball. Her mother thought that she had indeed played with the doll a lot, so buying a ball would be okey."

Sakura started getting a bit interested in the story, though she still had her guard up it was pretty obvious for her that if the blue haired woman would be able to hurt her if she wanted to, so maybe listening to the story wasn't a bad thing to do, besides she did enjoy scary stories.

"The little girl was supposed to sing that song while bouncing the ball. One day however, the doll the girl used to play disappeared. The girl despite not playing with the doll anymore felt like there was something missing, however she didn't notice what was actually gone so she stopped paying any mind to it."

Sakura couldn't help but think that the story was a bit cliché. Most likely the doll would appear once again and are the little girl.

"From then on, the ball would usually bounce on its own once in a while. At first the girl was pretty scared by it, so the mom, seeing how scared the little girl was by it, chose to tell the little girl a song, so that she could sing it when she was afraid. The song would go like this.

{My ball

bounces and bounces

if it breaks

another one I shall get!}"

After the blue haired woman finished singing the song, Sakura felt that the song was quite catchy, which didn't help the scary element the story was supposed to have grow at all.

"One day the little girl heard the ball bouncing over and over again, so despite being a bit scared she started singing the song just like her mother taught her. The little girl approached the direction in which the sound of the bouncing ball was coming from and saw a dark room. While she got near the room and was about to turn the lights on, a voice came from inside it, the voice singing the song her mother taught her.

{My ball

bounces and bounces

if it breaks

another one I shall get!}

The girl run upstairs terrified and locked herself in the closet. The stairs grew filled with noise, the noise of a bouncing ball and the same song could be heard over and over again. Eventually, the noises could be heard at the entrance of her room, the same song repeating itself again and again and the bouncing sound of the ball hitting the floor over and over again.

In an instant however the noises went silent, and a ball could be seen rolling through the floor of the room. The little girl, who was hiding in the closet covered her mouth with her hands and stopped breathing, she could see though the small small openings in the door of the closet the ball rolling across the room.

Suddenly the song started again, this time however the bouncing noise was deferent, if before it was like bouncing a volleyball ball on the floor, this time it was like bouncing a basketball ball on a wet floor. The noise entered the room, and from inside the closet the little girl could see the doll she stopped playing with, singing the song her mother taught her, but instead of a ball the doll was bouncing the mother's head." finished the blue haired woman.

"What do you think of the story?" asked the blue haired woman with a slightly proud smile.

For a moment Sakura wasn't sure how to answer, however she decided to be honest.

"It was a bit boring... I feel like it might have been scary for a child but I didn't feel the tension or fear it should have generated." said Sakura calmly.

"I see... it does make sense, I heard the story a long time ago and it was indeed told to children, however the story itself ended up being quite scary for them, still... they were children as you say. Well then, let me go for another story, I am sure this one will be much better." said the blue haired woman with a smile.

"Before that, do you mind telling me who you are and were we are?" said Sakura, deciding that there wasn't really anything to loose by asking.

"Hmmm, very well, but you will have to listen to my next story first." replied the woman while smiling.

Author note:

First of all, Sakura won't fall for Aqua, just in case someone is curious. Sakura is pretty much a yonder for Shirou so it would make no sense for this to happen.

Hope you liked the scary story, I heard it in Spanish so it was a bit hard to translate, especially the song. Anyway I heard it when I was like 9 and had trouble sleeping for like 2 months...

Now on a more important note... I binged Arcane last night and ended up going to bed at 4. Had no energy to wake up early and write and I am going to class now. Might write the Mahito chapter for tonight but no promises. Also Jinx is the best character ever and I am willing to fight anyone who says otherwise. Absolute masterpiece Arcane 10/10 would recommend.
