- Unexpected Aid

'These flames… they're insane!'

Marcus struggled to see a way out of the fight. On the one hand, leaving the air in the room would expose him to those flames. On the other, taking the air would mean he would have to outlast a ruthless assault from his opponent, one that he did not think he could outlast.

'I don't have a choice,' he thought, snapping his fingers. Once more the air drained from the room and, once more, the Starburst pressed on toward Marcus, recognising the need for urgency.

He swung the mace seemingly at random as he advanced towards Marcus, forcing him back. The unpredictability of the movement of the weapon was problematic for Marcus, who had no clear way of reading the attacks and reacting appropriately.

The Starburst laughed. "So, this is how you prove yourself to be stronger than me? How pathetic!"

'That's good,' Marcus thought. 'Waste your air.'
