Speculations and a Little Chat

When she finally arrived at their house, she was greeted by a nervous Fumiko who was ready to hug her and ask a lot of questions, but before she could. Yuki had already made a gesture to stay quiet and gently lifted her hand so that Fumiko could see Yaoyao who had already nestled herself in her hands and was sleeping in there. But she and Yuki could see that her body shivering, it was as if she was having a nightmare about something.

"Wha- what happened? Is that Yaoyao, but didn't you leave her to be with Yumie and Katsumi?" Fumiko asked quietly as she looked at Yaoyao with deep sadness in her eyes as she felt sad to see her injured. Even though she has only met her a few times, she already sees her as a part of the family as she is very fond of animals, especially birds. So seeing her in her injured and shivering self made her sad.

"She is supposed to, but I guess they got separated along the way. You don't have to worry though, they didn't get themselves into anything dangerous. I guess this little thing just got distracted by something and didn't know that she was already far away from those two, so she decided to just find me. Along the way, she got caught caught into an accident, which explains her current condition, but all of the things I just said is a speculation for now. Once we contact those two, we will get our answer." Yuki sighed and explained to Fumiko what she thought happened. But she was still not sure if her speculation was true or not since she didn't have enough evidence to support it.

"Is that so… that's sad though. Who would want to hurt such a cute little bird-like her? I mean, the scars that she got definitely came from a Vampire, not a Beast of some sort." Fumiko said that she had already noticed that Yaoyao's injuries were something created by a Vampire.

Thinking of that, it was sad because she just couldn't believe that someone had the heart to hurt someone like Yaoyao. She was still so small and clueless about the world, yet she had already been attacked by someone so cruelly.

When Yuki heard Fumiko's question, she couldn't help but give a light chuckle as Fumiko herself was still clueless about the real world and how it truly works and runs.

"The world is a very cruel place, that is the simple answer to your question. The world hurts everyone and I mean it. If you think that someone was cruel to you, you have to think why he/she was like that, and it will all come down to one answer, it's because they were also hurt by something. Because of that, everyone in the world is cruel for something, that is something you can never get out of them. It's simply impossible." Yuki explained lightly to Fumiko.

She then asked her to place the cloth that she took out from her Spatial Ring and just as she was about to put Yaoyao down, as if she could sense what she wanted to do. She begins to whimper in her sleep which made her no choice but to let her sleep in her hand.

"That…" Fumiko was speechless as she didn't know how to respond to Yuki's question. All of it seems so real to her that she doesn't know what to say because if you really think about it, the World is truly a cold and cruel place.

"But then… it's also because of humans, not just humans though. Every Race in the Immortal Realm is weak, that is why it became like this. Do you know the similarities between a Hero and a Villain?" Yuki asked with an expressionless face as she looked at Fumiko in the eyes and she felt that she was being stared at by something unknown, she somehow felt danger around her. So she answered her question without her even realizing it.

"No, but do I need to know this?" Fumiko asked and when she finally got back her composure, she felt that she just made a mistake by making herself look stupid in front of Yuki.

"Don't worry about it, learning is progress after all. But to answer that, of course. You need to know it because it will open your mind." Yuki then took a quick pause before continuing to explain to Fumiko what is the answer to her question.

"It's actually very easy, both of them came from the cruelty of this world, and the only difference is how they took it and learned from it." Yuki smiled as she gave Fumiko the most basic answer to her question.

When Fumiko finally comprehended what Yuki just said, she couldn't help but think of all the fictional heroes and villains that they had on Earth, the ones that came from stories. Yuki's words were absolutely true if you really think about it, but the answer was already too obvious that it made her feel stupid.

Heroes took the pain from the World and learned that they should help others instead of inflicting pain because they didn't want them to experience the pain that they experienced themselves because they believed that no one should feel that kind of pain in their life, it was unfair.

But for the Villains, it was a different story. It was the polar opposite of what the Hero did, they received pain from the World, so why shouldn't other people also experience the pain that they had? It was simply unfair for other people to not experience the same pain that they had as growing up, so that is what they did, they are the ones who are causing pain to others.

"Then… what do you think about that? Who do you think is more right, Yuki?" Fumiko doesn't know what has gotten to her and why she asked that question because it seemed a pointless question. But she just thought if someone were to have a genuine answer to her question, it would be her who have experienced it herself. But her question made Yuki think for a few seconds before answering her.

"Well… Villains because they are clearly smarter. You know this, I'm not fond of Heroes because I think that they are just living their lives full of lies. A Hero is just a younger or the child version of a Villain because sooner or later, that Hero would become a Villain once the People get tired of him/her. No one stays a Hero. That is just how it is." Yuki smiled as she gave Fumiko the answer that she hoped was the one that she wanted to hear.
