Insecurities

"What reward can I get for winning this tournament?" Instead of saying something about what Skadi just said, Yuki merely stood up before asking her what would the winner get if they won. But her actions only made Kurokami feel even worse because now she truly didn't know how Yuki was feeling, she then glared at her Mother before standing up to go towards her, but before she could get close, Skadi already answered her question which made her stop.

"Hmmm, not that much actually. You will just get one wish from the Royal Family and they cannot refuse their wish. Of course, there are some limitations to what you can wish, like let's say you suddenly want the throne of the King, or let the Royal Family kill someone just because you said so. Basically, you can't wish for something that is not ethical, but you can wish for like a partner." Skadi answered as she suddenly felt guilty because of what she said.

Now when she thinks about it, she realizes that she is wrong since it is just rude for her to say something like that in front of the lover of her granddaughter. But it was already too late to take it back, she couldn't do anything about it any longer, she could only apologize to her for speaking such nonsense. Just as she was about to apologize to her, she stopped when she heard Yuki say something.

"I see… but that rule doesn't mean that I can't really kill someone, right? Like I'm only informing them not making a wish that I will kill one of the Nobles, that is allowed right since I'm the one who is doing the killing." Yuki answered in an emotionless tone as she looked back at everyone who all had a shocked face because none of them expected her to say something like that.

"Yeah… no, wait! Who do you even want to kill? I know that Soulside Town has offended you, but I don't think that is more than enough of a reason for you to kill him." Skadi asked with a lot of concern because what Yuki said was true. The Royal Family can't do anything about it and she couldn't even believe that Yuki has found a loophole in that. Because it can still be technically a wish since she was asking for the Royal Family's permission for her to kill whoever she wants to kill.

"You don't need to know about that. Just know this, if those people ever try to refuse, I sure hope so that you can put some sense into their empty brains." Yuki left with those words as she began to walk towards her house but just as she was about to twist the doorknob, she was stopped by Kurokami who hugged her from behind.

"You want to kill those three right, the ones that my grandmother mentioned? Please, I beg you don't do this because right now they have the biggest names in Nightingale. Also… Maybe that was when I was young that I said that if I was going to marry someone, it would be a childhood friend, but I can assure you that if I also met you at that moment, all of that would change?" Kurokami said as she just hugged Yuki tightly, but when she felt no movement from Yuki, she lifted Yuki's body before darting inside the house all the way to her bedroom.

"Do you not believe me when I said that?" Kurokami who looked like she was about to cry mustered everything to ask that question to Yuki.

For a few seconds, Yuki just remained silent because she knew the answer to that, at least what she thought was the answer to it. If she had truly met Kurokami when they were children, the chances of her actually falling in love with her would have been different since it wasn't like she only loved Yuki for her appearance or her personality, she loved her for who she was.

So she just couldn't help but doubt it since if she were really born here and met Kurokami, she would be different from what she is now. She would be not the so-called Yuki who killed Billions of people without a care about their lives.

"I know what you are thinking, but I still think that I will fall in love with you. Because just as I said to you before, I fell in love with you almost instantly as soon as I saw you. I didn't even know you personally at that time, but I felt that you always caught my attention, especially when you first held my hand when you were picking out missions in the Guild. That was a big moment for me." Kurokami said as she fell down to Yuki's body, she just buried her head in her chest before talking in a hushed tone.

"Especially when you fell asleep at the carriage when we were gonna go to the Evergreen Village. At that time you cried in your sleep, seeing it my hurt broke I don't even know why. Then when I approached you, you suddenly embraced me and refused to let me go. At that time I was so shocked that I didn't know what to do other than comfort you in the best way I could." Kurokami stops to take a few deep breaths before continuing.

"At that time… I began to really think about it if I was really in love with you and from that moment I came to the conclusion, that I was really in love with you even though I didn't know much about you. Because even though I had relationships before and yes, I had relationships before with other women, I didn't get far with them, unlike with you. Because from what I realized, seeing you cry while having nightmares really broke my heart, I just wanted to cheer you up, I even wanted to take all your sadness away and take it for myself so that you wouldn't cry anymore." Kurokami stopped as she raised her head to look at Yuki in the eyes before whispering something and kissing her softly and gently which was full of love.

"I hope… I hope that this is enough for you because I truly love you, I love you even more than myself."

The kiss only lingered for a few seconds before Kurokami stopped as she then slowly released herself from Yuki, but just as she did, she was embraced by Yuki just like the time back in the carriage.

"It's foolish of me to think about such things, I know. But I… I can't help it. I can't always think about things statistically and how things could really be. But I always don't consider the option of thinking with your emotions because for me… its a bad with to go with life. Now… I realize that there are some things that you can't think about statistically, but you need emotions to think about them." Yuki said as she just hugged Kurokami's body together.

"I was scared… I was scared when thinking about what would happen if I met that Lady again, what would you do? I couldn't help but think that there was that possibility that you still have feelings for her and you will leave me. I was insecure about myself… That is why I wanted to kill her so that no one can take you away from me. I… I'm really evil, right?" Yuki said softly, she just stayed there and didn't even look up.

"You know… I'm also scared and insecure. I'm scared that might might find someone who will replace us two, you know? I know how charming you are despite your personality, any man or even lady will fall in love with you." Kurokami begins to tell how she was also insecure with herself.

"Sister Fumiko… how about you also get inside, stop standing in the door."
