Humanity

[Time: 12th February, 1967

Location: Space agency, Outsource Dept.]

PHASE 1

"Situation is out of our hands sir. The veterans have engaged in force as well. There is no hope. All military, air force and Navy are engaging the enemy. But they are..."

Humanity's first-ever Fleet Commander looks at the unleashing power of the Outsource aliens. The sad part? These Aliens look like humans but with coloured skin.

The outsourcing department of the space agency had long given up on handling the situation. Usually, they do everything in their power to hide the truth from the population to make humans feel safer psychologically. Every alien discovery, every frequency of radio waves ever answered by the Outsource was kept a secret. But this...is getting out of their hands.

For the first time, the Fleet Commander of the Navy held his head and leaned against the counter. Thousands of militants across the globe, more of the Navy and Air Force, eagerly await the top commander's orders.

Even the Space Agency head with the panel members await his decision.

Only for the Fleet Commander to pull out his gun and shoot himself in the head.

It happens in a fraction of a second. It looked like he had practised this several times for years alone. Shaken out of their shells, the Outsource department desperately cuts the broadcast...but it had already been heard by many. This...was the first stage of giving up.

PHASE 2

Two months later, Humanity is still trying to establish communication between the alien species and themselves. They spoke a different language, and neither of them was equipped to understand each other.

But one thing was clear.

The Alien species have unleashed a kind of bug that spreads across humans through a bite. Call it a zombie apocalypse for the starting stage. But humans didn't turn into zombies. They turned...into huge monsters that looked terrifying.

Each monster was different from the other. The permanency of a human turned into a monster was said to be ever-lasting. However, it was too early to make sure how long these Shifters were going to survive.

"We have learned from our mistakes..." Says the head of Government, the one who ensured peace after the world wars and civil wars, "...they aren't going to back down from destroying Humanity."

"Leader, but we have no sources to battle them anymore. Nothing kills them." Said a country's leader to the Supreme leader who had given the ghastly verbatim,

"Something must kill them. That is how we save ourselves." He says, turning his back on the countries that have been relying on world leaders.

"We have one way. We all should join forces and fight against it as one. Keeping all differences aside, we should combat them the best we can. Sir." A female country leader suggests. Hearing that, the Supreme leader turns back around and looks at her.

"Collaboration is what you suggest. What I was thinking about...is building a research unit and a base to combat these monsters. They have seized to be human, they should embrace to perish." He says, taking everyone aback. So this was what he was planning to reveal at the summit...

"Start the preparations. Build a base and let other countries know what to do. The Shifter Regime should be in action as soon as possible. Shift all your funds to research. Before that, figure out how to catch them. Hire the best hunters under the Regime. Things have to go in this order. Report all the findings at the summit. Until then...dismissed."

Well, the Shifter Regime had begun on command. How well would this Regime help humanity? What is the interpolation of this with Roxy? Let's find out more in...

PHASE 3

The most crucial phase, which had commenced after three months of rigorous search for talent. Hunters across the globe in 1968 weren't as equipped, but Humans could always figure a way out. That's the beauty of humans who are governed by The Seven Sins. That's why Satan loves to rule over humans more than any other creature.

"It's no use..."

It is thundering outside the Regime Base. Monsters have cornered all surviving humans in the city. The monster count is twice as much as the surviving humans in this city. In such cases, the city is declared as a lockdown zone. Orders from higher authorities are that...humans and Shifters in that city alike will be left as they are without military aid.

In this case, it had far crossed 51%, as per the guidelines from authorities. But what about the poor militants and hunters sent to the city to avenge initially? Will they be left to die as well?

"What did you even think, Adi? Everyone is doomed around here. Including ourselves. Let's count the days without food and water once again. There...there must be a mistake and maybe...there is actually more food to spare." At Adi's words, the other militants who are clobbered up in a warehouse flinch.

"How dare you repeat that!? This is the umpteenth time already, fucking hell! How about I blow your heads off and lessen the count so we can survive longer—!?" An old, gruff veteran screamed at Adi, who cowered in fear. His name is Gabby, the warrior.

"Hmph! I wonder how you've passed the fucking Regime test. You should've been locked up for your distrust in our leaders." Adi lifts his head as he hears Gabby The Warrior.

"There's no point covering our heads from monsters and Shifters. We should...do something." Halo exclaims, his eyes dark as though his limbic system had lost control.

"We shouldn't pay the price for humans who've given up and let themselves turn into monsters. That was their easy way out..." Rick, a middle-aged man, says. He turns to look at Cynric, a young lad with valour and courage. He was considered the best Scout in the Regime for a while. Cynric is 19, the youngest of the militant survivors.

"And I say we should summon a force we have all been aware of.

A creature...from the underworld.

Perhaps...a witch..."
