She had the perfect roommate

Anessa quietly helped Blake take his things from the car, but she couldn't help but glance at him a few times as he lifted the bigger boxes from the trunk of his army green Range Rover.

"Why doesn't he wear a shirt?" she quietly questioned.

"I'm too sexy for shirts," Blake responded with a straight face. His ego was bigger than two times the universe and his pride was even larger.

A red hue found its way to Anessa's cheeks when she realized she actually asked what was on her mind out loud.

"Anessa?" Emily called out.

There were two parking lots, one was at the front of the complex and the other was underground. Emily walked the entire outside parking lot looking for her best friend and her roommate, then upon not finding them, ventured to the one underground.

Anessa's eyes widened when she heard Emily's voice, "Shit, I forgot I told her to come down when she's done packing up."

"You're really afraid of her huh?" Blake amusingly questioned.

Anessa nervously bit her fingernails, "Yes, and you should be too if you know what's good for you. She's not someone you want to make angry."

Blake hummed, "Sounds like a fun challenge."

Anessa visibly started to panic, "No, no, get whatever you're thinking out of your head."

Emily called her name once more and this time Anessa responded, "I'm over here!"

She patted her chest to calm herself down and chanted to herself, "It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be okay."

Blake chuckled, "You really need to calm down. You're making your friend sound like a monster or something."

Anessa quickly gave Blake a crash course on things he should not do at two times speed, "Don't stare at her boobs or her butt, don't ever ask her about her love life, don't touch her, don't look her in the eyes and do not talk about her appearance."

'Don't talk about her appearance?' Blake thought to himself, 'Is she ugly or something?'

"You have all that right?" Anessa questioned to confirm.

Blake went over the things in his head and recounted them back to Anessa, "Yea, no staring, no touching, and no asking about private, sensitive stuff."

Anessa nodded proudly, "Good."

She was a nervous wreck as they waited for Emily to reach where they were, while Blake was mostly just excited.

"Deep breaths Blake, deep breaths," Anessa said while taking deep breaths of her own.

He furrowed his brows, 'Is Emily really that terrifying?'

A brunette dressed in baggy blue sweats rounded the corner and Anessa rushed to meet her.

Blake stared at Emily from afar as she talked with Anessa; she was a lot prettier than he thought she'd be, but not thinking of her sexually became an easy task for him when he realized he wasn't attracted to her at all!

Emily glanced at the shirtless man behind Anessa, "Is that him? Is he really gay?"

Anessa simply nodded out of fear of speaking and having Emily realize she was lying. Emily couldn't believe it, he didn't look like someone who could be gay, but looks are often times very deceiving so she didn't argue.

Anessa tightly held both her hands as they walked towards Blake who was leisurely leaning on his car. She feared Blake would say or do something he shouldn't have, but she knew all she could have as of that moment was faith.

"Why isn't he wearing a shirt?" Emily questioned.

Anessa's heart pounded against her chest, she haven't formulated a good answer for that yet. Emily hated narcissistic, egotistical men the most, so telling her Blake's true reason wouldn't be a good idea.

"He's uh...," she trailed off. "A-Allergic to most of the materials...cloth materials that make shirts."

Emily's brows shot up, "I've never heard of that allergy before. Should be a huge bummer for him during winter."

Anessa released a breath of relief, 'She bought it!'

Emily looked up at Blake with a bright smile and an outstretched hand, "Hi, I'm Emily Vancouver."

Blake shook her small hand and smiled as well, "Nice to meet you, Emily, I'm Blake Garcia."

Emily's brows shot up, "You're French, that's so cool. I always wanted to visit France."

Blake started talking to Emily about France and Anessa was beyond overjoyed to know everything was going just as planned and they were getting along, but she knew their friendship would be short-lived when the truth is revealed.

With the help of the delivery men who transported Blake's furniture, they finished helping him set up his furniture and unpack his things by late afternoon.

Emily completely forgot about the interviews she had, but she didn't mind, she was confident she had the perfect roommate and wouldn't need to try and get any big jobs to pay her rent on her own.

Anessa ran her fingers across Blake's multiple golden trophies of academic achievements. 'Insanely smart and sexy? How can someone like this exist?' she thought to herself.

It was already getting late, but Anessa was still there. She wanted to make sure nothing would go wrong. She smiled as she looked between Emily and Blake whose eyes were focused on what was playing on the T.V.

Anessa didn't want to leave until both of them retired to their rooms, she didn't want them talking without her there, but she was the only one with a hint of sleepiness in her eyes.

Emily looked at her then back at the T.V, "You're sleepy Nessa, it's already past your bedtime. Why don't you go to sleep?"

Anessa shook her head, "No, I'm fine."

Emily shrugged, "Fine then, do whatever you want, but if you fall asleep on my couch you're waking up in the hallway."

Blake was very much amused by her threat, but little did he know, Emily was dead serious and Anessa knew it.

A few more minutes passed and Anessa unwillingly answered the call of sleep. Emily sighed and held under her arms, "I told you to go home and rest."

Blake rose a brow, "Where are you taking her?"

Emily pulled her from the couch, "To the hallway."

Blake took Anessa from her and held her in his arms, "We're taking her to her room. Don't argue with me, you're coming too whether you want to or not."

Emily's mouth slightly fell open, she has never met a man who would even think about threatening her like that. "O-Okay," she found herself responding.

Blake smiled, "Good girl."

But he had no idea what effect those two simple words had on Emily. Her face flushed red and her heart skipped a beat as she was forced to remember someone from her past.

"Darniel?" she whispered to herself but quickly shook her head to erase any thought of that monster.
