A memory I didn't know I had

Emily's eyes went wide and her body went limp across Blake's shoulders when she heard his firm command for her to behave after being spanked by him.

She couldn't understand why most things Blake did remind her of her devil of an ex-lover, but his actions triggered a past memory Emily didn't even know she had.

Emily was in a trance-like state as the images of her unknown past flashed before her eyes. She kicked back and forth on the shirtless, tattooed man's shoulder and whined, "Darniel, put me down right now!"

The muscular man had multiple tattoos all over his upper body, but out of all the other dreams Emily had that showed her glimpses of who she presumed was Darniel, she's never seen the tattoo of the woman at the center of his back.

But the weirdest part was, the woman illustrated looked exactly like her!

Just like in her other dreams, when he turns to face her in the memory, the present Emily can't see his face or hear his voice, however...

She was jolted awake from her trance state when she heard Darniel's voice for the first time. "Behave," Darniel commanded after spanking her just like Blake did.

When Anessa and Blake realized that Emily didn't make a fuss over Blake spanking her, they immediately checked on her to see if the ghost took possession of her body again.

They tried calling out to her many times, but Emily only continuously stared blankly in one direction without even blinking.

"Do you think she's been possessed again?" Anessa worriedly questioned as she constantly moved her hand side to side in front of Emily's stiff face.

Blake at first was only making fun of Emily when he sided with Anessa to take her to an exorcist, but he too started to have his doubts about her being the only one in her body.

"Emily? Wake up!" Blake called out to her and mere seconds later she jolted awake looking as though she's seen a ghost, but she's only heard Darniel's voice for the first time.

"Are you okay?" both parties worriedly question.

Emily furrowed her brows and looked briefly at Blake before putting her head down and nodding, "I'm fine."

She thought Darniel's voice in her head sounded familiar, but that's because it was Blake's voice. It made her so confused at first, but then she remembered that his voice was the reason she got into such a state in the first place.

Anessa held both Emily's hands as she anxiously questioned, "Did you talk to the ghost? Did you see it?"

Emily hopped off the car's hood they placed her on and sighed, "I'm not possessed, stop asking me weird questions."

'I'll have to draw what I saw in that dream when I get back home.'

Anessa ran up beside her, "You blanked out again, are you sure you're not possessed?"

"Did I say anything this time?"

"No," Blake answered from behind them. He rose his arms to the back of his head, "You looked like you were in a trance or something, you couldn't hear or see us."

Anessa nodded frantically before asking, "Do you remember anything?"

Emily contemplated if she should tell them or not, but they already thought she was possessed, so she didn't bother worrying that they wouldn't believe her.

"It was like I was in a dream...I saw a memory I didn't know I had."

"What did you see?" Anessa curiously questioned.

"Darniel," she responded, "Or at least I think it was him."

Blake's brows shot up as she continued, "He was carrying me over his shoulder like Blake was doing, then he spanked me and told me to behave."

She looked at Blake, "I've never heard Darniel's voice before in my memory flashes, but when I did hear it for the first time he sounded like you."

Anessa furrowed her brows and hummed as she brought her fingers to her chin, "That probably doesn't mean anything, there's a chance you only heard Blake's voice because he said it to you a few seconds before."

Emily slowly nodded, "Y-Yea, I guess so."

"Do you think we should try finding him? What does he look like?" Anessa excitedly questioned.

Emily shrugged, "I've never seen his face, or I've seen it but can't remember what I saw."

Anessa frowned, she was really excited to solve the mystery of who Darniel is, but how can she do that if Emily has never seen his face?

"But, I have seen his body."

Anessa's face rose and her excitement rekindled as she asked about random distinguishing features, "Does he have a huge birthmark on his butt? A scar on the back of his head?"

Emily honestly rathered if he had something normal like Anessa listed, but she didn't predict that the man she hated loved her so much to tattoo an image of her on his back.

But could it have been obsession?

"He has an illustration of me on the center of his back."

The parking lot got so silent anyone could hear a pin drop. Anessa was on the verge of bursting with excitement as she clapped enthusiastically, "That's a very good lead, all we have to do is find a guy with you on his back!"

Blake who was silent the entire time chuckled, "You want us to go around and check under every man's shirt for a tattoo that looks like Emily?"

Emily leaned against Blake's black range rover and folded her arms, "That's not the problem."

She stared at Blake, "He's basically you with a lot of tattoos, so since he's clearly a shirt-hating freak too finding a guy that matches the description shouldn't be a problem."

"The actual problem is finding him...he could be anywhere around the world by now or dead, so we really shouldn't waste our time looking for him."

Anessa frowned, she didn't expect Emily to refuse to look for him.

Blake rose a brow, "So, you're running away? I had no idea you were a quitter."
