Chapter 8

Classes are coming to an end and Noah can't wait; find her best friend to hear from her, but above all to try to understand what happened with Audrey this morning. Everything that the latter said to him bothers him, especially since he knows full well that this is not Eliza's style. Before going there, he makes a small detour by the house of the one he likes, leaving her in front of her house, wanting above all to avoid any scene of jealousy. Arriving at his best friend's, he is welcomed by Angel.

- Hey Noah! she says before giving him a kiss. How are you? I assume you're coming to see Eliza?

- Exactly, he replies with a smile. Is she there?

- She's in her room. Go see her... She'll be happy to see you. She thought you weren't coming.

- I had to make a small detour before coming here...

Angel wanted to give the young man some advice but, as it's a subject that doesn't concern her, she prefers not to say anything to avoid offending him. Nevertheless, knowing what her sister is going to talk to her about, she hopes for Eliza that everything will go well as he goes straight to her best friend's room.

- How are you, Eliza? Noah asks her with a smile as he walks into the room after she opens the door for him.

- You're finally here! she told him, relieved, happy to see him. I thought you weren't coming after what happened this morning.

- I accompanied Audrey before coming to prevent her from having a fit of jealousy.

- Oh! she just throws.

- I see that it bothers you...

- I'm not going to lie to you but, yes, it bothers me a little, she replies frankly. I somewhat expected that sooner or later I would be relegated to second place.

- Please don't talk nonsense, he says, raising his voice a little, which surprises Eliza. Do you really think I would bother to come see you if I put you second?

- I'm still not going to apologize for telling you what I really think!

- I don't understand you anymore. You've changed a lot since I hinted to you that there's a possibility that Audrey and I could be a couple. You wanted me to ask your permission first before I go out with her?

- "Why don't you fucking realize that I love you and that I want to have you all to myself?" she asks herself, disappointed by the young man's words. I find your words quite harsh. What I want is that you don't jump into a relationship too quickly only to suffer afterwards.

- "But what's happening to you Noah?" Why are you talking to me so harshly? she wonders as she does what she can to keep her eyes from filling with tears. I find you unfair to me...

- But what the fuck did I do? she bounces, raising the tone of her voice. Eliza is more and more lost, doesn't understand what's going on.

- Aren't you ashamed of threatening Audrey to get away from me? I've always thought you were exceptional, but you're no better than the others in fact.

- Why are you treating me like this, Noah?

Faced with so many violent words, Eliza can no longer hold back her tears.

- Your little game will no longer take with me, from now on.

- Audrey got you mad at me? immediately asks Eliza. I don't understand why you talk to me so rudely. It's the first time you've done it, and I can tell you that it's hurtful...

Wanting to know how the conversation went, Angel hurries to see her little sister, following the departure of the young man, when she comes across a bruised person. Understanding that the discussion was not fruitful, she takes Eliza in her arms before she cries bitterly in the arms of her big sister, who lets her let off steam without asking the slightest question.
