A Mother’s Rage

He had known Daphne was to do a test since they had been trying for a baby.

"I hope so too," Daphne said, beaming and smiling from ear to ear. They started looking for names early, even before they went for an ultrasound to know the gender of the child. The two were on a cloud whose number they didn't even know, and when they finally got to do the ultrasound, their worst fears were confirmed. Donald withdrew from Daphne, and he was no longer showering her all day and night.

Carey had been born prematurely; hence he was very weak. Daphne stayed in the hospital until the doctors felt confident that Carey could be taken home. Ten months after his birth, Donald wanted to try for another baby, and his guardian angels were overworking because they had Hellen.

"Mommy, please tell Carey to play his music on a low volume," Richy asked Daphne and brought her back to the present. She forced herself to get up to Carey's room, but he wouldn't open the door for her.
