Chapter 10

Chapter 10

"Hey, Sam!" Norton greeted me while he made his seat after the mid-break.

"Yeah hi," I shortly responded and get back to writing my report for the next class.

Norton might have been wondering why I have not been giving him attention since this morning. I have to keep myself busy just to forget everyone else. I want to have some alone time and everyone seemed irritating. This feeling started this morning and I don't know why.

Then just before the class started, an idiot came in.

"Hi Trexie"

Everyone else especially I was shocked to hear Khai greeting Trexie. And worst, in front of everyone in class Europe.

I could not take away my eyes from him as he seductively shouldered Trexie. Then he looked at me and winked. This crazy bastard! What are you f#cking doing?

"Trexie?" Khai looked at the target seemingly happy. "Mrs. Tarsus is calling for your presence at her office. Would you mind if I'll accompany you?" Khai's voice is very loud, he is purposely wanting everyone to hear him.

"Trexie?" Someone voiced out from the door. It was Kerry and the girls.

I just realized. Khai is getting Trexie into big trouble.

But Khai seemed to exclude the consequences and tries to make Trexie stand. Oh Gosh! Trixie is trembling, everyone knows she's scared right now that the girls are here. Probably her heart is jumping hills.

The girls were very pretentious to be approaching Khai and Trexie in a friendly mode.

"We can take Trexie to the office Khai. Just leave it to us," Kerry offered.

We were all silent as we watch what could happen next.

Khai rejected the offer and pulled Trexie from the chair. As they reach the door, the bully appeared. Now Khai and Kyle bumped into trouble again. They both have not recovered from yesterday's injuries and now want to add more.

"Let us through Kyle," Khai ordered.

However, Kyle was not clearing the way. "What's the problem, Kerry?" Kyle asked the girls. Now he is acting as the bodyguard.

I walked towards Norton who was just chilling at the back playing a game on his phone.

"So what are you going to do?" I asked in a low tone.

"Well, you said it, leave them to kill each other," Norton responded without looking away from his phone.

"And should we leave Trexie to die too?"

Now he looked at me and flipped his phone on his table. "Why do you care about her so much? She is not that important," Norton said. "And why are you talking to me right now when you seemed to have wasted me this morning," he confusingly said.

"I don't know. I just don't feel to," I explained.

He shrugged and stood. Walk past me and simply pulled Trexie as they made their way away from the two boys.

"I hate you Khai," Kerry exclaimed as they walk past the door. Then a new guy came in. It was Karl, his boyfriend. "And I hate you more!" Kerry screamed at her boyfriend.

Poor Karl. Kerry and he had been in a so-called relationship. He was just being used for Kerry not to be called wasted in love. Poor guy.

"What?" Karl popped his palm. He had the attitude of 'the f do I care!'

Then at last it was time for class when Mrs. Johanson came in. All of us ungrouped and went back to our classes. It was just like that. Luckily, none of us dared to call the teachers. If you'll do that you'll get yourself in trouble.

No wonder why up until now, bullying and all forms of inhumanity had been a secret inside this school and could still be known as one of the most recommended in the city. I just don't understand.

As the class begins, Trexie was not yet back for class. I am worried, something might have happened on her way here. Ugh! Why does she always matter!

I excused myself to go out when just in time, Ariane was also walking alone in the hallway. I knew it. They are up to something again. I hid from one of the posts while I follow her.

Just right in the faculty, Trexie moved out from Mrs. Tarsus's office, and right in time as she got closer, Ariane was on the move.

I can see them both walking in a different direction, probably going into the girl's comfort room. I transferred in another post just to be on their follow.

Just as they near, Khai came out from the boy's comfort room and approached them both. They can be seen talking to each other, Khai and his sister.

Then Khai told Trixie to get going. I hid well from the post to not be noticed by any of them. Luckily, Ariane was also seen to be going back to section Alaska, their classroom.

I never bothered to move as I wait for Khai to go back. I leaned slowly on the wall as I bite my lower lip massaging my palm.

Suddenly.

"And what do you think are you doing here?" Khai's voice was heard from my right. Not did I know that he was leaning on the other side of the post.

Damn it! I am caught now!

It is only the two of us left. I think I can take this chance to talk to him. No one would know anyway.

"Why are you doing this to Trexie?" I mumbled.

"Are you jealous?" He answered while we just talk keeping our attention to ourselves.

"Eww! No. Not that!" I protested. "You never know what's coming for her maybe in the next minute or the blink of an eye." I tried to explain.

"Why do you worry too much? It is not like she's your sister or someone important to you," Khai said. He is kind of telling me the definition of playing someone just like trash.

Angrily, I faced him. "That person is also breathing just like me. The hurt that she is receiving from Kyle is enough. Do not add more!" I could barely beg him to stop the act. "Stop it Khai, you do not know what you're doing," I said as I walk away.

I heard him whisper. "Trust me, I know what I'm doing. I was never wrong in my actions!"

I did not bother to look back. What I only care about was that I said what he needs to hear.

We went back to our classes as I pretended to have come from the comfort room. In that way, no one would suspect anything.

Trexie's eyes pinned at mine as I approach her at lunch. I simply slid my palm with a hidden piece of paper to her desk as I went to greet Norton.

"Hey, can we have lunch outside?" I asked.

Norton looked at me. He lifted his eyebrows giving me the gestures of 'Any problem eating here?' But I still pulled him from his chair.

"So tell me, why do you like it here?" Norton asks as we walk in the hallway.

I shrugged confuse about why I made him come out. "I don't know, the weather is nice I guess."

We went outside the building as we approach the grassy park. We both sat down as we tease each other on our lunchboxes.

"What's for lunch?" His eyes peeped at mine.

It was just macaroni cheese on top. His was.

"Can we swap lunch today?" I pleaded with deformed lips and teary eyes.

"I don't like macaroni," he spilled.

I felt broke and hurt. My favorite is macaroni and cheese and it was his dislike? Huh!

"But here," he gave me his. "I wanna try yours," Norton pulled mine to swap his.

I smiled and lets a little laugh. "You don't have to. I just felt yours was tastier," I explained. Yet looking at him dig his spoon to eat the macaroni. I can tell he was a good pretender.

But I still ate his lunch halfway before I swap it back again.

"You don't like macaroni," I laughed. "I like it actually because mom is a good cook.

Norton smiled, probably to agree with my opinion that mother's dishes are the best.

"You look great in there!" Khai's voice got over my head and probably Norton's as we both turned around to confirm.

"Khai's here," Norton calmly said.

"I know," I said annoyed.

"Looks great like hmm," Khai stopped as he sat in a space between us. "Like a couple."

"We're just having lunch," I answered.

"I don't have lunch, can I have yours?" Khai looked at me in a very weird way popping his hand asking for my lunch.

I can't look away as our eyes met until Norton had to grab my box and handed it to Khai's. Norton had been looking at us staring at each other. I sounded a cough to break the silence.

"I like macaroni and cheese," Khai said chewing every spoonful of my food.

"I'm not asking!" I said annoyed. Why is he here anyway? And why is he eating my food? And worst, why is he using my spoon?

I rolled my eyes.

I tried to find an excuse. I smirked.

"Norton, we have something to do at the library right?" I asked him tilting sideways to look.

"Yeah. Let's go." Norton stood first.

"But I am not yet done!" Khai complained.

I stood ignoring Khai. "You can put my lunchbox on my table after," I said turning my back.

I walked fast as Norton follows. I just hope Khai does not.

"Sam?" Norton called. I stopped and bothered to turn back while he approach. "Would you mind if I'll tell you something?" He asked.

I shrugged. "I don't mind. What is it?"

"I think the school's heartthrob is hitting on you."
