Chapter 48

"I do know what that means." Michael spoke back. His voice shaking with anger. "You're saying that you were just someone that wanted to sleep with my father and nothing more? Are you saying that you didn't love him?"

"Love? What does love have to do with sex? We were both able to get what we wanted from each other. No strings attached." He explained to the young teenager. Yet, soon turned to regret those words as he saw someone standing behind Michael. Michael noticed that his eyes were no longer looking at him, but behind him. He turned around and saw his father.

"Wh…What are you doing here?" Michael questioned in shock. His father should've been at work. "I came home and saw that you were gone." Seth spoke out. "What are you doing here?" Michael turned to look at his father.

"I wanted to find out what happened between you two. I found that letter and-"

"Decided to come here thinking you would find answers." Seth finished his son's sentence. Michael dropped his head. He thought he was doing something good. "I told you not to worry about it." Seth sighed. "Let's go." He turned and started to walk away.

"Seth!" Seth kept walking. "Please wait!" Leon's voice started to crack. Seth stopped. Leon ran over to Seth so he was closer to him. "Please. Let me explain."

"What is there to explain?" Seth asked. His back still facing the other man.

"There is a reason why-"

"You don't have to say anything. I understand it all." Seth slowly turned his body to face Leon. "You made it so clear at graduation." Leon's eyes went wide. "I was stupid to think that we were different this second time. But it was the same. I'm nothing but a convenience for you. Someone you can fuck and not have to worry about pregnancy right. Don't tell me I'm wrong. You even told me my son that we were just sex friends with no attachment to each other." "Please, let me talk!" Leon begged.

"I don't care what you have to say." Seth stopped for moment. He felt his voice beginning to crack. He couldn't show Leon that pitiful side of him. "You know, I really loved you. I was devastated when you told me that at graduation. It took me forever to get over you. I thought I was over you till I met you again. I actually thought it was fate." Seth softly laughed at himself. "But I was wrong." "No you're not!" Leon yelled. Seth looked at the man.

"And how is that?" Seth questioned. "You treat me as some piece of meat you can have your way with whenever you want. I'm tired of you messing with my heart."

"I just didn't want to be labeled as someone not normal!" Leon shouted. His eyes calmed down a bit along with his voice. "I didn't want others to see me as something disgusting." Seth was quite for moment. He looked down at that ground then back at Leon.

"Well congrats. You will not be labeled or be looked at as disgusting." Seth turned on his heels and took a step forward.

"Wait! Seth!" Seth stopped. "Please. Let just talk this ou-"

"I don't ever want to see you again. I don't want you to come to my house, my work, and also…" Seth turned his head to the side. "…lose my number." He straightened his head and started to walk away again.

"Wait Seth!" Leon grabbed Seth's wrist. Seth's pushed the man away making him let go of his wrist. "Don't touch me again." Seth's eyes were stone cold as he looked at Leon. Leon's hands fell limp next to his body. He couldn't find his voice to speak. Seth turned and walked away from the man. He soon disappeared from Leon's vision.

Seth walked with son as they turned a corner and fell against the wall.

"Dad! Are you okay!" Michael's voice was full of worry. Seth covered his mouth and felt the warm tears fall down his face and hand. Michael felt his heart sink. His father was in so much pain, and he didn't even notice. Seth slid down the wall falling onto his bottom. The sobs and tears came stronger and more fell.

"I really lost him for good." He sobbed. Those words that Seth spoke hurt each time they came out. His heart was shattered beyond repair. He couldn't do this again. He had no strength. Michael sat down with his father and rubbed his arms and back of his head.

"Pain like this really hurts, but soon it will be filled with new love." Michael's voice was gentle as he spoke. Seth understood his son was trying to comfort him, but knew that he couldn't love another. He had already tried it and it didn't work.

The two sat there for some time before calling a cab and heading home.

Once inside the apartment, it was already past midnight. Michael watched his father stumble in the living room.

"Are you okay?" Michael couldn't help but worry over his father.

"I'm fine. Just go to bed." Seth spoke as he made his way towards his own room. He shut the door behind him. How he wanted to just bury himself right now. The pain in his heart only grew. Seth stripped off his clothes leaving his underwear on and crawled into the bed. He closed his eyes and as soon as he did, he felt the pain hit him even harder. He burst out in tears again. He didn't want to feel this pain anymore. He wanted it gone as soon as possible.
