The Great Machine Sage

Elmer shivered as she fell on her bottom and scuttled back with her hands and knees.


In front of the couch, her father and mother were being eaten by a dark creature. 


The creature noticed her. Its eyes seemed hollow yet horrific. It stopped eating and released his father's head.


The creature stood up. Its body was taller than a door but skinny as twigs. It approached. Blade-like fingers about to cut him.


Elmer froze. She couldn't move a muscle as the creature stared at her.


Someone help me! she thought, but couldn't let the words out.


Then she heard a bang from behind. Followed by a thud.


She opened her eyes. The creature lay on the side. A giant hole on its head. Weird liquid came out of that hole, pouring onto the floor.


Someone stepped and approached the monster. It was a woman. She wore a white and black hat with a light frame.


The woman turned around, smiling. Elmer didn't know who could she stayed calm in this situation.
