Concert Hall

Stone lions stood outside this building, nearby other humans took out a plastic card and scanned it next to the door before entering.

"New York Public Library", tall stone pillars supported the Pediment and Freize of the roof. The cornice, entablature and tympanum were undergoing repairs.

"Looks like one of those Greek temples we visited or Bharat's capital buildings", Myzkik remarked.

"Zhongguo's and Pilipinas palaces were pretty cool as well", Demmy complimented.

Both of them walked up the stairs and headed inside. Row after row of books surrounded them, their mystometer started to act up again. However as they continued walking it shut off.

"How much time left?", Demmy asked.

"Uh, give me one second. I need to check why my Mystometer suddenly died", Myzkik explained.

Myzkik fiddled around with the borrowed magic tool.

Demmy took out her Mystometer card and it too shut off.

"Weird", Demmy said to herself.

Soon a man with glasses and a green scarf around his neck approached them.

"Uh... hey there, My names Thomas. What are you guys looking for?", the man asked.

"Something magical, maybe you might have some magic items here?", Myzkik said with an off-handed remark.

Thomas thought for a moment considering where to go. Lifting a finger, he seemed to have thought of something.

"Follow me", Thomas said as he sped off through the main stacks.

Myzkik and Demmy hurriedly chased after him

Passing by the entrance to the central plaza, the children's book sections, various art dioramas and displays he took them to the special collections and artifacts section.

"Ask our special collections gallery archivist", Thomas suggested.

Another man sat behind a desk, with a pair of headphones faintly making some music.

♪♫♪

This room stretched out right in front of me

But I'm two steps back from where I wanna be

.....

There's a lion in the wardrobe

And a wolf out the door

I might never get to heaven

But I've been there before

With Thomas quickly leaving, the man soon noticed the two guests.

"Oh hello there", the person greeted them.

Myzkik and Demmy paused for a moment to take in the new pieces of information and inspect some of the items around. At the very least most of the objects looked old, a few orary, sextants, dinosaur bones, various scientific looking instruments, photometers, and stuffed birds and lions scattered the area.

"This is one of the places where we store art from some of the most prestigious collections in the world. Currently on display are a few items from the New York Natural history museum, the Smithsonian air and space museum, the Metropolitan museum of art, a few small statues from the louvre in Abu Dhabi, and more institutions we work with from England to China."

A little flustered the pair decided to go with it and follow Thomas's advice.

"Do you by any chance have any Daoist artifacts, books or brushes?", Demmy asked.

"That's a strange request, Are you guys watching YYDS by any chance", the man chuckled.

Demmy and Myzkik looked at the man with a blank look.

"Oh, just a joke about eastern animation. It's really good, Spare me great lord and The King's Avatar are really popular in china with wuxia references. Versatile mage and tales of demons and gods...", the curator seemed really knowledgeable about the topic for some reason.

After heading to the back. The man pulled out a drawer of objects, he handed both of them a pair of gloves.

"These are some historical relics of tarot cards", he pointed out. "Used by the Bavarian mystic society in austria. It thought it'd be cool to display alongside some of the more eastern artifacts", the curator explained.

Pulling out a few old books, their papers turned yellow after being exposed to the open air.

"Anyway let's pull out some of the eastern masterpieces, Sejong's brush, a 5th century copy of the Tao Te Jing, I-ching's Book of changes from the northern Song Dynasty, and a few sutras from Japan's Ryoan-ji", he introduced the objects.

Myzkik and Demmy both started to take various measurements and readings. Myzkik's pen brushed some symbols and recorded the data.

"So how would people use it?', Demmy asked.

Their curator watched them silently, on his lapel was an American flag pin.

"Most secret societies conducted their own research from Pythagoras cult in Croton to the Freemason society in America. However, they all had a fascination for mysteries. We receive artifacts like ouija boards due to their curiosity of the supernatural", the curator lectured.

He continued on and on about cultures from the Middle East and Africa, ideas of the afterlife from Nordic and Egyptian countries, to funerary practices in Japan and Vietnam.

Myzkik and Demmy's initial excitement very quickly turned to boredom. Their guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgable, however they were quite ready to finish and go home.

"Thanks so much for showing us your collection, but we have to get going", Myzkik tried to say as politely as possible.

However he was ignored and they were led deeper and deeper into the archives. Demmy tried to tap on the man's shoulder, but before she was able to do so he stopped in place.

The air suddenly got colder, the lights seemed a little harsh as if something sinister was about to happen.

"Demmy... Myzkik", the man said out loud.

Demmy and Myzkik reached to grab a random object in their pouches.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything to you. Rather I'd come to give you a message", he explained.

Snapping his fingers, a passageway opened up and he walked inside.

"You coming?", he asked the two children.

Cautious at first, they stayed behind him at a distance of about 10 paces.

He led them to a room with a large clock and a Foucault pendulum. There laid out were a few tarot cards at each of the 42 sticks placed in a circle.

Their mystometers was starting to run out of energy, but it seemed to glow brightly once more.

"Why did you bring us here", Demmy asked.

"Your sage and his group of mages once stored something here a long time ago. Something he said to give to the next group of mystics that would visit in the future. The man was something of a blind prophet", The curator watched as another stick fell and grabbing two arcana cards he retrieved a box.

"Anyway, you've still got one more place to head off to before your project's finished", the man said. He handed them the wooden box with an unknown item or items inside.

Then unbeknownst to them, their mystometers linked to a local chrono-space device. With a flash they appeared before a child with greyish white hair.

Meanwhile at the front of the library Thomas was sorting out the book returns.

"Hey Sy, what are you doing here", his friend Jeremy Lin tapped him on the shoulder.
