Manhattan project

"What was that all about", Demmy asked Myzkik.

Myzkik shrugged, speaking his thoughts he said, "we're almost done. Let's just hold onto this and we'll give it to the professor when we return to class."

Demmy for once agreed as Myzkik suggested something intelligent for once.

"Why are you looking at me like that?", Myzkik looked at his friend staring at him strangely.

Soon enough the child in front of them was putting the finishing touches on his cardboard project. A box with drawings of paper airplanes and the leftover parts of a lemonade stand.

Walking along the street a group of kids on bicycles went up to him.

"Hey, got any grapes?", the older kid asked.

"Duck off jimmy, I'm not in the mood for it today. Don't sing the mushroom one either", the younger boy with the box said.

"What Did you cook up today albert? Go Kart Derby, Mountain climbing?", the kids surrounded him to ask.

The kid wore a bright blue overall and a yellow shirt. He wore a fake mustache and a flat cap to cover his curly hair.

"This week is called mad scientist!", raising his hands in the air pretending to give a cackle.

"Ok Dr. Frankenstein", the group of kids called out.

"Who wants to be Mr. Hyde?", he asked.

"Are we doing a play", one of the kids taking off his helmet asked. They placed their scooters, skateboards, and bikes on the grass asking him the rules.

Myzkik and Demmy found that their mystometers glowed a strange color around the kids playing on the field.

"Do you think they'll invite us to play. I really liked playing baseball with that George Herman kid", Myzkik said.

"That kid was full of himself, him and that stupid bat", Demmy complained.

They had a previous visit before to test if the were mature enough to explore on their own. Demmy got tricked into licking a telephone pole in winter, then tall men with axes and hoses had to pry her off.

"He got you good", Myzkik offered.

They continued staring at the kids suddenly cram into a large cardboard box, on the front was the television one of the neighbors had bought. Inside they were drawing and one of them brought a flashlight before they closed the lid.

"This looks just like 海绵宝宝", Myzkik said.

"The cartoon about splitting his pants and the bubble salesmen. Your taste in cartoons are so weird", Demmy remarked.

Walking along the side walked, the sat on a bench hearing a bunch on noises coming from inside the box. Various cars passed by on the street and pedestrians walked around.

"Are we done here?", Demmy asked.

"There's suppose to be some sort of magic trick here", Myzkik said looking at the itenerary.

"Give me that", Demmy grabbed the list from his hands.

The checklist empty boxes were marked with scribbles, speech bubbles and tick marks.

"We're suppose to be at theater square, not theater avenue", Demmy said with exasperation.

"Oh, sorry wrong coordinates", Myzkik put his hands in front of him opening up a portal.

They then traveled to the magic show. Finding their way inside, the area was covered with a large piece of fabric with various points and flags on top. Inside various lights were hung from wooden poles. There was a small dirt space where a woman stood in the center.

She wore a red robe and a tall black hat, on her hands she wore two white gloves.

The performance consisted of card tricks, metal rings, with various sword and fire effects interspersed inbetween.

"That was so cool", Myzkik said staring at the magic.

"How is she doing that, the mana density is too low to actually preform these things", Demmy pondered.

"Slight of hand and deception probably", Myzkik guessed.

They continued watching, there were a few other performers and entertainment such as lions and trapeze artists. However they were trying to figure out how the magician actually performed the trick.

"I think I figured out the card one, it's probably because she had a card in her sleeves", Myzkik theorized.

"Nope, I think she messed with the card on top by marking it", Demmy argued.

At this time, they were taken back to class. Many of the students gathered to talk about their experiences while other had just suddenly returned.

Some of their robes and clothes were burned, singed, melted and wet. One of the groups got covered by a glass bubble, some had various creatures, solid and liquid materials.

"Did you see the peanut?", one of the upperclassmen asked.

"We caught the faerie. They called it a yeti", one of the groups was covered in snow.

Various cards and materials were swapped, the powder of a blue chaos butterfly, chasing the cicada ARG, identifying the one in a billion Mr. Ignaz Semmelweis, talking to the great hermit, giving Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz a letter.
