Presentation

"Settled down everyone. Averous, stop that!", the Magi Parnal Venus Etri yelled.

Seeing as the professor had arrived, all the students got into their seats.

"Thorton's group, discuss your findings of what you found in the scorecraft realms", he started off the presentations.

The group covered the various realm densities and brought out a couple of coinage and currencies they gathered. Black organs and anatomy of the creatures were on display inside the magic containers.

"Selen & Pomu's group. How was the simulation?", Parnal Etri mentioned the next presentation.

The Obsydia group observed a scientific creature with orange arms and black eyes. It swayed from side to side running away from its white environment towards a ship of humans.

"We call this creature Exhibit Gurin. As you can see its small statue makes it the prey of mythical creatures such as dragons, narwhals, Bao the whale, and even the mighty shrimps of its underwater habitat", Pomu nudged her glasses.

On the board showed pictures of Selen biting, petting, and teasing the creature.

Presentation after presentation continued.

The ARG group investigated the efforts of a group obsessed with moths and puzzles. He showed a singing puzzle involving a triangle toy called Bill.

"They were inspired by something a man thought of while singing in the shower. It comes from a dark place known as the public pool restrooms", Ploska Illona introduced her findings.

Eventually it was Myzkik and Demmy's turn to present.

"Group 17, will be presenting on a difficult topic. Talk about your experiences with XB427s magic levels."

Demmy talked about some of their experiences and adventures to the world they traveled too.

"To be honest, we didn't really understand the assignment. We already learn about magic in our world", she introduced the topic.

Professor Etri nodded his head allowing her to continue.

"Whenever we went to a place suggested by the Demuirge. Our mystometers would glow and we were often confused about the pattern", Myzkik supplied.

The teaching assistant stepped in, "Talk about some of the times your mystometers glowed and maybe some of your classmates can help you come up with some explanations."

Seeing the sudden attention, many of the students started to whisper, sit up and pay attention to their project.

Myzkik and Demmy started to get nervous at the sudden amount of attention from their peers.

Myzkik continued, "We watched people play board games and it went off. We went to where they stored knowledge and it went off. Finally we saw a few children play in a box and it went off"

At that brief explanation, most of their classmates looked confused.

Demmy displayed the data their mystometers collected and the various quick drawings that were recorded off the scene.

"After all your travels what did you conclude?", Parnal Venus Etri brought the wisdom of 200 years of magic history pressure to their group.

"It's a mystery to us", Demmy admitted.

Professor Parnal stood up to lecture and bring up a few points as he did for the delivary groups and the mischevious students who were forced to write research papers.

"On the whole you did a decent job of exploring your environment and measuring things you didn't understand. I'm happy to see that you at least tried to complete the assignment", the professor praised.

"This was more an exercise of understanding, tell us about the last place you visited", Parnal mentioned.

"You mean the magician?", Myzkik brought up.

"She didn't have any magic, the only magic item we brought back was this box", Demmy took out the box they received.

Suddenly the door opened and a man with a tweed suit stepped in. He went up to the stage and grabbed the box.

"Oh, that? That's actually some wine I've been brewing for a century", the Demuirge said and then left quickly.

"Continue", Parnal said shaking his head at the headmaster of the school.

"Oh, uh....", Demmy returned to the topic.

"All she did was showcase some slight of hand and trickery", Myzkik stepped in for his partner.

The group of students started discussions on what they thought.

"I think they're going to get a passing score again", some of the kids muttered.

"oof, hard assignment", another kid commented.

Professor Etri made some notes and waved them off the stage. The various presentations and groups continued.

Demmy and Myzkik received their marks for the assignment, 350/389. An excellent score!

Professor Etri covered all the shortcomings of each project, giving various tips and recommendations of what to do next time and different ways and methods to approach the prompts and situations given.

Turning to Demmy and Myzkik's group he flashed a small smile.

"Magic comes in many forms. The great Philo Socrat and Aris talked about things such as forms and fundemental principles. Others discussed ideas such as ether and brownson motion. Few even delved into string-zeta functions and quanform conjectures. From Kant Gestalts to Existant potential magic has many paths," The professor drew a Taiji symbol.

"Fulcrums, levers, magic and mystery. Magic is merely explanations and theories we've come to explain what we know. When we measure things whether through empiricism and data, in XB427 they call it physik and sciences, we use hypothia", Parnal Etri drew the various diagrams and relationships between various studies and branches of magic.

"When you talked about the magician. She was indeed preforming magic, as were everything else you've seen. Except for the Demuirge's alcohol, don't take his actions as an example", the professor got quite upset thinking about sending his students to fetch the Demuirge's various hobbies.

"Magic comes from a more ancient word, the ancients used to call it mysticism or mystery. This is how we get the stories of myths and legends that your parents tell you about", the professor paused for a moment to catch his breath.

Various discussions started to pop up as the students started to take notes. One kid stuck his hand in the air.

Yes Frankle, Jianghu, Murim, and Xuanhua also are various subworld origination from exploration", Parnal indulged in his question and the student put his hand down.

"You are here to pursue the mysterious and curious whims that you may think off and I assure you there will be many confusing and unintelligible things you've experienced and misunderstood. Many of your upperclassman have sat in the same seats and thought the same things you have", Professor Etri lectured.

"Magic doesn't exist to make wishes come true as much as we want it too. Magic has rules, that we follow, make up, and break the conventions and rules we come up with", the professor sighed thinking about certain events and experiences.

His eyes looked far into the distance thinking about moments that the students couldn't see.

One of the students brought up, "What was the audience of the magician like?"

It was a strange question, but Myzkik answered as best he could. "They were enjoying it?", he said a little unsure at why the question was being asked.

"Can something be magic to some people and mysteries to others?", another kid brought up.

After some discussion the class ended. Their class on the introduction of theory crafting and magic studies finished and the students went to their other lessons.

Alchemical creations, Material identification and containment, Travel efficiency and energy pathing and many many more.

Slowly the ideas involving magic and the veil of mysteries and questions surrounding it were slowly being explored and understood.

_____

On XB247, the magician smiled.

He wrote in his notebook his own ideas of the field. science at a high enough of level may as well be magic. True magic is not in the deception or slight of hand, it is in the wonder found in mystery.
