Sam's Office

Every employee they passed immediately bowed ninety degrees to them, but Bara just kept on walking proudly. Jasmine just continued to follow behind Bara, she felt very uncomfortable because everyone was watching them.

Bara glanced briefly at Jasmine, she pulled the girl's hand into the elevator.

"Ra, whose office is this?" Jasmine asked once they were alone in the elevator.

"Sam!"

Jasmine frowned in confusion. Alright, but isn't it Bara's turn now? Why did he invite Jasmine to Sam's office?

"Sam?"

"Yes," said Bara without looking at Jasmine.

Big and luxurious, that's what Jasmine saw in Sam's office. Until she felt inferior herself set foot there.

She smiled faintly, walking with Bara made her feel respected. No one has ever lowered their head to Jasmine so far. This is a new experience that is quite entertaining.

It didn't take long for the elevator to stop and the door opened. Jasmine returned to follow Bara's steps. They stopped right in front of a door that said "Watch out for the fierce dog!"

Jasmine swallowed her saliva whole. Does the Bagaskara family also keep dogs? Are you serious?

"Come in! Sam is in there! I have to hurry!" said Bara slowly.

Jasmine immediately turned to the man and looked at Bara questioningly.

"Isn't this still on your schedule? Why bring me to see Sam?"

Bara took a deep breath and looked straight at Jasmine. He shrugged and nodded slowly.

"Many questions! Just come in! Sam is in a mess, he needs a friend! Remember our agreement? If you haven't given me any information yet, I'm asking for a share! Do you understand? Come on in!"

As fast as lightning Jasmine shook her head. She immediately shuddered and took a few steps back from the door.

"Why even back off? Come in!" Bara's orders.

"No!" said Jasmine quickly.

"No?"

"You can't read? There's a fierce dog inside, Ra!"

Bara Just laughed out loud. He nodded slowly and opened the door. His hand reached out to grab Jasmine's wrist and pulled the girl in with him.

"Whoops!" Bara bark loudly.

Instead of a dog, the one in the room is Sam. The man was lying down while playing games on the large sofa in the corner of the room.

"What are you doing here?" Sam put the game stick on the table and sat facing Bara and Jasmine who was walking towards him.

This room is very big, even Jasmine is sure, it is bigger than her house in the village. There's not much stuff in here. Only a mini-fridge, tv, air conditioning, a minimalist glass table, and several large maroon sofas. Ah, don't forget the various paintings and photos that adorn the walls.

Jasmine was still looking around the room.

Don't ask what for! Of course to find the dog.

Bara who saw that immediately took a deep breath.

"You don't think there's a dog here, do you? Seriously!"

Jasmine scowled at Bara who was also looking down at her. So, no dogs?

"Stupid!" cynical Bara.

Sam chuckled softly at Bara's words. Especially seeing Jasmine's expression as if she wanted to strangle Bara right then and there.

"I'm going, it's a kid if it's a bother, just give her some candy so it's calm!"

Jasmine gaped in disbelief hearing Bara's words. Wasn't that man underestimating her too much? Seriously, candy?

Wow, Bara has offended her pride as an elegant adult woman.

"Why the rush?" said Sam.

"I have a meeting I must attend!"

"Well, thanks for bringing Jasmine here!"

"Never mind," Bara glanced at Jasmine with a meaningful look. He gently stroked the top of her head.

"If you miss me, say my name three times!" said Bara softly.

Want Jasmine to curse harshly, how can a man like Bara be so absurd? Unexpected.

Bara glanced cynically at Jasmine before finally leaving them. Bara has many faces, sometimes he is kind, sometimes evil, sometimes rude, but he is also gentle, Jasmine really can't understand that one man.

"Why are you still standing there? Here!" Sam looked at Jasmine with a warm smile.

Jasmine slowly walked towards Sam and sat next to him. He smiled then laid his head on Jasmine's lap.

Sam closed his eyes and took a deep breath as if he had just put all the weight he was carrying in Jasmine's lap.

"You're not working?" Jasmine asked awkwardly. Instead of having to sit around awkwardly, it was better to have a light chat with the man.

"There's not much to do today. So I'm taking a break."

"Why don't you go home?"

"Set a good example for subordinates," answered Sam casually.

OK. Whatever, it's none of Jasmine's business anyway.

Sam grabbed Jasmine's hand and played with the girl's fingers in his hand. Sam is like a child being pampered with his mother. Jasmine can understand it, growing up without the presence of a mother is not easy.

There's no one to lean on all this time.

The harsh language, Sam is like a child who lacks caresses who must always straighten his back to repay his adoptive father's kindness.

Such a good boy.

"If Bara hurts you, tell me!" said Sam slowly.

Jasmine smiled faintly hearing that. Sam was good, he knew that of course, he wouldn't dare to think about anything else even though deep down he was starting to admire the man.

Jasmine nodded slowly. This was terrible, a strange feeling started to overwhelm him. The girl tried to distract herself from Sam, but the charm of Sam wasn't that easy to avoid, so she chose to change the subject.

"Sam,"

"Hum?"

"You know why the sun goes down?"

Sam glanced at Jasmine's face with a questioning look. Ah yes, Jasmine knows, guessing games like this are not suitable for someone like Sam, but she has to distract herself.

"Because the moon is coming out?"

"No!"

"Because he was tired?"

"Not!"

Sam took a deep breath, he was still playing with Jasmine's slender fingers.

"I give up!" said Sam flatly.

"Hey, giving up that easy? Come on!"

"Okay, because he's sleepy?"

"No!"

"So?"

Jasmine suppressed a smile, she cleared her throat a few times before telling Sam the answer.

"Because he can't swim!" said Jasmine in the end.

"What?" Sam gawked at Jasmine's answer.

The girl immediately laughed loudly, laughing at her frankly a very dry joke. And though Sam didn't quite understand it, he laughed too.

"I still have a lot of riddles! Want to hear?" bargained Jasmine.

"Of course!"

After that, the two men threw jokes at each other that made them forget their burdens for a moment.

And Sam? The man never let Jasmine's hand out of his grip for a second.

"Sam,"

"Hum?"

"Just..."
