Mission Failed

"Sam, why are you working so late? It's not good for health!" Jasmine chose to ask the original question because she was unsure how to start.

"I'm used to it. You take it easy, I always take vitamins to keep me healthy."

Jasmine pursed her lips, staring at the sad eyes Sam.

"But still, sleep is very important."

Sam's hand reached out to gently caress Jasmine's hair. The girl felt very comfortable, Sam's treatment felt more comfortable than when Jeri held her hand before. That warm feeling, Jasmine likes it.

"I just wanted to return the favor," said Sam half-whispered.

"To whom?"

"Dad."

Mr. Bagaskara?

Jasmine is starting to understand now because Sam is an adopted child, he wants to repay Mr. Bagaskara's kindness to him by working very hard. Good attitude.

"Bara told me about it," Jasmine slightly looked up so she could look into Sam's eyes one more time. Their faces were close now.

"About?"

"You are not Mr. Bagaskara's biological children."

"Um, did he tell you that?"

Jasmine nodded slowly.

"Dad was devastated by the departure of his wife, he then vowed never to remarry. But he still needs friends, he needs a successor. The company that he worked so hard for can't be brought to death right? So he chose us as his adopted children."

Alright, Jasmine understands now.

"Even so, Dad loved us very much. He never made us feel like adopted children."

Jasmine smiled hearing Sam's words. Yes, she knows. Mr. Bagaskara loves them. Because of that, he sent Jasmine to them.

"But, Sam. Do you know anything about Mr. Bagaskara's wife?"

Sam looked straight at Jasmine, he pulled the girl's chin, making Jasmine look up at him. Sam looked down and brought his face closer.

"It was Bara who asked you to ask. Isn't that right?" said Sam.

Oh? How did he know? Jasmine's heart was beating very fast, she bit her lower lip because she was nervous.

"N-no. Why did Bara tell me to do that?"

"Even though I don't know you that well, I know that you would never have the thought of asking me something like that, and your clothes, Bara also told you to wear this?" Sam glanced cynically at Jasmine's nightgown.

Jasmine shook her head weakly, she dared to look deep into Sam's sad eyes. That gaze seemed to bewitch her, bringing her into a pampering warmth.

"It's true, it was Bara who asked me to ask. But you were wrong about my clothes. Bara didn't even know I had clothes like this. I bought them secretly at the boutique." said Jasmine.

Sam raised an eyebrow and rubbed Jasmine's lips with his thumb very carefully. Even the little touch felt so good to Jasmine.

"Why are you wearing such clothes?"

"You don't like it? I'll replace it then." Jasmine removed Sam's hand from her lips and straightened her body intending to change her clothes.

But suddenly Sam hugged her from behind. He placed his head on Jasmine's shoulder.

"No, I like seeing you like this. You're incredibly beautiful," he whispered right in Jasmine's ear. Making the girl's blood boil and her body shiver.

"Is that true?"

"Yes."

"Sam?"

"Hum?"

"Are you always this sweet to the girls you met at the nightclub? Mr. Bagaskara said you guys like to hire bitches there."

Sam tightened his arms, he planted his face on the nape of Jasmine's neck. Sam gave some kisses there.

"Not," said Sam slowly.

"Is that true?"

"You and they are different! Of course, my attitude will be different too. I know you are a good girl."

His words warmed Jasmine's heart. Sam's attitude is the exact opposite of Bara's. In Bara's eyes, he and they are the same. Both cheap. But Sam says that they are different. Sam said that Jasmine was a good girl. No sentence is much happier than that while Jasmine lives in this house.

"Let's go to sleep. You must be sleepy." Sam whispered, he then lay down Jasmine on the bed.

Sam embraced and hugged Jasmine until she fell asleep in the man's arms.

***

Bug!

Jasmine gasped. Her heart was beating fast from the shock.

"Hey princess! What time do you think it is, eh?"

That voice, not the sound of Sam.

Jasmine rubbed her eyes that were a little sore and then tried to look around in all directions after that. Well, the good news is she's still in Sam's room.

Wait, Bara?

"What are you doing here?" Jasmine immediately pulled the blanket to cover her body which was only wrapped in a thin nightgown.

"Tch! Why is it closed? I've seen it! Wohoo Jasmine, your body is pretty good too. But it's a shame your chest is small."

Small chest?

Jasmine shuddered.

How could Bara say something vulgar like that? That's disgusting, you pervert!

"Hey! Did you sleep with Sam last night? Did our plan work?" Bara sat on the edge of the bed, looking straight at Jasmine.

Jasmine nodded slowly. She took a deep breath and looked at Bara intently.

"Ra, are you serious that Sam likes me? He didn't even touch me last night! It's a waste for me to dress up like this!" Jasmine grumbled.

She took a deep breath and nodded slowly.

"I can't be wrong! I'm sure he's very interested in you. But why doesn't he touch you? It's weird. Or maybe your chest isn't big enough so he doesn't want to see you?"

If only Bara wasn't his master, Jasmine would have hit the man in the head, slapped him, and even kicked him.

What kind of asshole keeps talking about chest issues?

"Never mind. We still have another chance."

Jasmine nodded slowly confirming Bara's words.

"Ra?"

"What?"

"Where's Sam?"

"He left three hours ago."

"Where to?"

Bara looked at Jasmine with a look full of inquiry.

"How do I know?" Bara said.

Jasmine smiled faintly. Sam works very hard. Jasmine felt he was carrying a very heavy burden.

"Hurry up and go downstairs!" Bara threw a pillow at Jasmine and then left the girl alone.

***

After taking a shower and wearing proper clothes, Jasmine came out of Sam's room and went straight to the dining table, her stomach was hungry.

However, it turns out that Bara and Joe are there, so Jasmine doesn't want to. She was fully aware of her position here. It is not proper for a maid to eat with their masters. So Jasmine decided to turn around and wait by the pool.

The air there is very cold. Not inferior to the village, the difference is that there is no sound of birds chirping or the wind blowing sadly, it's too quiet here.

Jasmine closed her eyes and she sucked in as much air as possible.

The girl's reflex shifted her seat when someone suddenly sat beside her.

Joe?

"Not eating?" he asked flatly.

Jasmine nodded slowly.

"Not hungry?"

Again, Jasmine shook her head slowly.

"How was last night?"

Joe turned to Jasmine. He shifted his seat to face Jasmine.

"What now?"

"Did you sleep with Sam?"

Jasmine smiled bitterly and shook her head. She knew that what Joe meant was not sleep.

"Don't be mad at Sam!" said Joe slowly.

Jasmine frowned in confusion. So what? Do they have the right to regulate their feelings too?

"Sam and Bara are good to you because they are really good. So don't get your hopes up. Remember what you're here for and what for!"

Jasmine stared blankly at Joe. What was the man's real aim?

Jasmine shook her head slowly, she then stood up and walked unsteadily away from Joe, but the man's hand reached out to hold her arm. The man forced Jasmine to stop and turned to look at him.

"I don't like being ignored!" he said sharply.

Jasmine nodded slowly.

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize if it's not sincere!"

Why does this one man want so much? Jasmine was confused.

"Hey, I'm only here to do my job. I promise I won't get carried away with anyone, so please, let me go."

Joe furrowed its brow and scowled in annoyance.

"I don't know why I don't like you right now." cynically.

Jasmine shook her head weakly. That's not necessary. Joe doesn't need to like her. Jasmine doesn't need the man's liking.

"What are you doing?"

Reflex Joe released his grip from Jasmine's arm when Bara's voice broke the silence.
