Looking for Treasure

Jasmine immediately froze in the kitchen doorway. She didn't know how to describe all this mess. Broken plates and glasses scattered everywhere, chopsticks stuck in watermelons, broken chairs, cracked table glass, was there an earthquake?

"Are you awake?"

Jasmine immediately turned around when she heard Sam's voice behind her.

"Sam, there's an earthquake?" Jasmine asked panicked.

Sam just smiled, put his arm around the girl, then led her into the living room. There was Joe there too, they were having breakfast.

"Sit down, let's eat!" Sam sat Jasmine on the sofa and pulled a plate of fried rice on the table towards the girl.

"Answer me first, was there an earthquake?"

"Bara was furious!" said Joe casually.

And yes, in the end, Bara found out that his treasure had been stolen. At least, it's quite a relief to see Joe still alive.

"Joe, your forehead hurt!"

Joe's forehead looks blue, as well as his wrists and arms. Jasmine turned her gaze to Sam, her cheekbones were also bruised.

Good grief!

"EXCUSE ME." Jasmine began to shed tears. She didn't know that the chocolates could cause such a mess. Jasmine thought it was just chocolate that happened to be expensive. Now she was starting to think Sam was hurt because of her.

"You want the fried rice to be salty from all those tears?" said Sam slowly.

Sam scowled at Jasmine, he then wiped Jasmine's tears with the back of his hand.

"You're not a mermaid, your tears won't turn into pearls, so don't cry!" said Sam with a faint smile.

"Sorry." Jasmine stopped sobbing and looked at Sam doubtfully.

"But since you made a mistake, you have to take responsibility. I'll take you to Lombok, we have to replace all the chocolates!" Sam put down his spoon and took a deep breath.

Jasmine nodded slowly.

"Sam, are you sure Aisyah wants to make chocolate for us?" Joe looks worried.

"That's the problem. You know how things are!" said Sam flatly.

"Just give her a lot of money, or whatever she wants!"

"Hey, do you think Aisyah is money-oriented?" Sam protest.

Joe sipped the lemon tea in front of him. He just glanced at Sam then smiled sarcastically.

"She asked for that much money last time. Just made a box of chocolates. Can't that be called a money-oriented?" cynical Joe.

"Come on, we're having breakfast okay? Don't make my appetite go away!" Sam was annoyed.

'Aisyah, who exactly is that person? Chefs? Or what? How good is she to be able to sell chocolate at such an incredible price?' Jasmine thought. She thought hard about the relationship between a woman named Aisyah and Bara's box of chocolates.

"Don't think too much, eat quickly!" Sam touched Jasmine's chin and winked one eye.

Seriously, he's so adorable that it makes Jasmine want to smack him on the cheek.

***

After a tiring journey, Jasmine and Sam finally arrived in Lombok.

After putting their luggage in the hotel room, they immediately headed for one of the sizable bakeries there.

Jasmine stared in disbelief.

The parking lot itself was full, too, there was a long line near the window. Jasmine prays that they don't run out of chocolate.

Jasmine followed Sam into the shop, but instead of queuing, Sam immediately walked casually to a room in the corner of the shop.

"Oh, Mr. Sam, welcome. Are you on vacation?" Greet a middle-aged woman in Sam.

Sam just smiled in response to the woman's welcome.

"Madam, where is Aisyah? She's not out front."

"Aisyah? That girl hasn't worked here in a long time. The last time she worked here was when Mr. Bara came here."

"Then, do you know where she is now? Bara lost his mind because Joe ate the chocolate."

"Oh my God." screamed the woman in surprise, "Is Mr. Joe all right?"

Jasmine became even more confused to find the woman looked very worried. Bara, chocolate, and Aisyah. Oh no.

"He is fine."

"Thank God. But, it's a shame I don't know where the girl is now. Her house has moved too, so we couldn't find her."

woe.

"But one of our employees saw her around a nursing home not far from here, she visited there quite often as a volunteer when she was still working here. Maybe she's there now considering it's Tuesday."

Sam smiled, then nodded slowly.

"Okay. Thank you, please let me know if you get any information about Aisyah's whereabouts."

"Of course."

After that, Sam took Jasmine to a nursing home not far from there. However, instead of immediately getting out of the car and looking for this Aisyah, Sam sat quietly while observing the entrance to the orphanage.

"Aren't we going down?" Jasmine asked confused.

"No, we'll just wait until Aisyah comes out, then we'll follow her to find out where she lives."

"At least make sure she's in there or not. Don't let our efforts go to waste, Sam."

"You see that girl? The one with the hair in a bun is Aisyah." Sam is pointing in a direction.

Jasmine followed the direction of Sam's index finger and found a girl chatting with several elderly people in the waiting room of the orphanage which was slightly visible from the parking lot. But, that girl's stomach...

"Sam,"

"What?"

"Can you explain what happened? I know, I have no right to interfere in your business, I'm just confused and curious. About all kinds of chocolate drama, Aisyah, and Bara."

Sam just smiled faintly and pinched Jasmine's cheeks in annoyance.

"No one knows what happened, not even Bara. What we do know is that Bara and Aisyah used to be friends, they looked very close and happy, then suddenly Aisyah left. Bara, who loves Aisyah so much, keeps looking for her whereabouts. the girl until they finally met at a bakery owned by someone who used to work for her father. Unfortunately, Aisyah suddenly hated Bara so much," Sam took a deep breath as he looked at Aisyah who was standing far away.

"Bara kept coming to see her with the excuse of chocolate and so on, that's why Aisyah asked for a high fee every time she made chocolate for Bara. Everyone thought Aisyah was money-oriented, she used their relationship for money. But I don't know, Aisyah I remember doesn't care about money, so weird." continued Sam.

Jasmine listened carefully to every word that Sam spoke. She followed Sam's gaze and thought hard.

If they were that close, why did Aisyah leave? And, if Aisyah is money-oriented, why should she stop working? Wouldn't it be nice to get that kind of money out of a box of chocolates?

They waited long enough until evening came, and Aisyah came out of the place. They follow her, and oddly enough, the girl walks into a Mother and Child clinic.

Is she pregnant?

"Come on down!"

They went inside and found Aisyah entering the doctor's room. They waited until the girl came out of there.

Aisyah came out of there with a big smile and the ultrasound book in her hand.

Without permission, Sam approached Aisyah and took the ultrasound result book she was holding. He looked at the photo of the fetus with a furrowed brow and a sharp gaze.

"Is this Bara's child?" asked Sam matter-of-factly.

"What are you doing here?" Aisyah screamed in surprise.

"Answer my question, Aisyah!"

"Just outside. There's a lot of people here," said Aisyah then left them. Of course, they immediately followed her.
