Discussion With Joe

Jasmine just opened her eyes when she heard a loud noise from outside Joe's room. Her curiosity immediately peaked, she immediately got off the bed and walked slowly towards the door, but suddenly she stepped on her sandals until she fell on the floor.

Not long after, the door opened, and Joe helped the girl to get up.

"Why are you sitting on the floor like that?"

That sentence should have been a joke.

"I was going out, I tripped and fell. There's a noise outside, what's going on?"

Joe moved restlessly, it was thinking of an excuse that if it made enough sense to give to Jasmine.

"Bara is still nagging because his cellphone was washed and he was cursed, that's a new maid. Come on, don't think about it! Don't go out yet, the atmosphere is not good!"

Joe turned Jasmine's body and pushed the girl's back towards the balcony of his room.

Jasmine raised her head while closing her eyes, she spread her hands to welcome the morning sun.

"By the way, how about Nhola? You didn't tell me yesterday!"

Jasmine turned to Joe who was sitting on the chair casually. Jasmine scowled and sat beside Joe.

"You guys are friends from high school, you should understand Nhola's condition very well, right?"

"Hum? Don't beat yourself up, my brain can't be used to thinking about it. Just get to the point!"

Jasmine was silent for a moment.

"You don't realize there's a very high wall between you two? You're rich, and she's not. You wear all kinds of branded stuff and she doesn't. You're wasting money while she's struggling to collect it. Is that clear enough?"

Joe was silent. Who knows what it means. This is the first time Jasmine has seen Joe cover his mouth tightly.

"She likes you, but she doesn't want to get involved with you. She is afraid that everyone will look down on her when she is with you, she feels small." Jasmine said slowly.

"If money and branded goods are the problems, then we consider this problem solved. I'll give her as much as she wants."

For God's sake, when will this man use his brain?

"Are you crazy? Do you think she'll take it? If you give her money or any of those luxuries, I'll bet she'll slap you and hate you for the rest of her life!"

Joe was surprised to hear Jasmine's words. He didn't know which part of what he said was wrong.

"So? What should I do?"

"Who knows," Jasmine leaned her back on the chair. She looked up into the sky, saw clouds that were white and varied in color.

"Shit. You didn't give any solution at all!" said the angry Joe.

"If I asked you to replace your car with a motorbike, throw away your branded clothes and wear regular ones, and then work to earn your own money, would you do that? Would you be willing to leave all these luxuries and conveniences for Nhola? Hum?" challenged Jasmine.

Joe stared intently at Jasmine's eyes.

"Why would I do that?"

"So, that Nhola doesn't feel inferior when she's with you!"

Joe was silent. He pursed his lips and crossed his legs. He took a deep breath, then, smiled faintly.

"Not easy," said Joe slowly.

Yeah, of course, he was used to all these kinds of luxuries. How could he just leave it all behind?

"Are you sure she will accept me if I do what you asked me to?"

"Not really, but at least you can make her comfortable, that way you can approach her slowly. Slowly Joe! Slowly," Jasmine patted Joe's arm gently.

After that, they chatted at length about the figure of a simple man who fought hard in his life.

Over and over again Joe laughed. He looked down on Jasmine's idea. His father had worked so hard to provide a comfortable life for him. If he didn't throw the money away, then, who else?

They chatted for a long time until Jasmine felt hungry and they came out of the room for breakfast.

Sam was gone when Jasmine came out. Jasmine was disappointed because she couldn't meet Sam. For some reason, she felt something was off. Sam had not spoken to her at all since they returned from Lombok. Previously, even though it wasn't on her schedule, Sam always made time to meet Jasmine and chat with her for a while. But, now? He didn't even call her at all.

After finishing breakfast, Jasmine went to Sam's room to open the window curtains so that the sun could enter.

Jasmine thought, if she made Sam feel uncomfortable, he should just order Jasmine to get out of his sight or give his schedule to someone else.

Click.

Jasmine turned her head and noticed Joe who had just entered, the man ignored Jasmine and immediately rummaged through Sam's cupboard.

What did the youngest do this time?

"Looking for something, sir?" Jasmine asked in a less friendly intonation.

"I'm looking for Sam's underwear."

Jasmine and Joe glanced at each other. They feel Joe's words are so...

"You want to wear it?" Jasmine asked innocently.

Joe stopped looking and looked cynically at Jasmine. He was on his hips while throwing his death glare.

"Are you crazy? Excuse me, but we're different sizes! I'm much bigger!"

Wait!

For God's sake! Jasmine didn't want to hear it. How could Joe say something so direct? Serious!

"Sam got rained on and he was wet. He asked me to get his clothes and take them to his office!"

"But it's sunny here, where is it raining? Why don't you ask the assistant to buy a new one? There's a mall near his office right?"

"He doesn't want to wear unwashed clothes, Jasmine!"

Jasmine was silent, she then nodded in understanding.

"Damn it, where the heck are those panties?" groaned Joe.

His hands were still busy rummaging through the contents of the cupboard.

"Bottom drawer," Jasmine said slowly.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Joe protested.

"Because you didn't ask!"

"Crab!" cursed Joe.

Jasmine's laughter broke out just like that, making Joe angry, it was so fun. His brow furrowed and his lips pursed. Very funny.

"Hey, instead of you not having work at home, come with me!"

"To Sam's office? No, thanks! I'll be bored to death there."

"After we deliver this, I want to take you to find Nhola."

"No, thank you."

"This is an order, Jasmine!"

"This isn't your schedule, Mr. Joe, you can't order me!" Jasmine emphasizes the word schedule to remind him, he can't just order Jasmine when it's not his schedule.

"I wonder, why do you two like to fight so much?" Bara stood in the doorway.

The man shook his head watching Jasmine and Joe who often argued even over trivial matters.

"You don't work?"

"I have a meeting soon. Oh yeah, don't forget to attend Jeri's wedding today. He terrorized me so I could take you there!" Bara said.

Marriage, huh?

'What is the true meaning of marriage? Shouldn't marriage be done by people who love each other? But Jeri doesn't seem to love the girl. So why did he get married?' Jasmine exhaled heavily.

"Well, it seems that you are not ready to see your ex, get married?" Sniff Joe.

"You don't have to come if you're not comfortable!" said Bara, looking straight at Jasmine.

"I will come," said Jasmine half muttering.

"You can ask the driver to take you there!"

"No. Joe will take me. He hasn't taken me out on his vintage motorbike yet!"

"Okay. Hey, don't speed!" said Bara before leaving.

Joe glanced at Jasmine sarcastically.

Luckily Jasmine has started to get used to Joe's annoying attitude, soon she feels, she will be immune to the youngest. Hopefully so.
