Jealousy

Sam smiled faintly as he carried Jasmine on his back.

He loved every time he was around her. Even every little touch that happened between the two of them was able to make his heart flutter.

"What is your weight?" Sam asks to stop his naughty daydream.

"Does this weigh too much?"

"You are as light as cotton," said Sam and smiled crookedly.

"Is that a mockery or something?"

"Have you ever seen me, mock people?"

"Once."

"When?"

"Just now!"

Sam laughed just like that, he laughed so crisply and so relaxed.

"Where are you going in a dress like that? Looking for Bara?"

"Seriously, what's wrong with you? You're saying too much Bara's name today!"

"How far is your relationship with Bara?"

"Far enough," said Jasmine. She was already too annoyed with Sam's behavior today.

"If he wasn't my brother, I would snatch you from him."

Wait, what? Jasmine was stunned to hear Sam's words.

"Jasmine,"

"Yes?"

"The father of Aisyah's baby, not Bara," said Sam quietly.

"Then?"

"I will not marry Aisyah."

Jasmine laughed lightly. So much time has passed. What's the point of explaining it now?

"Wow, what a shame."

"You're not happy?" Sam asked confused.

"Should I be happy?"

Sam stopped walking and turned to Jasmine.

"Sorry to be late. I've been busy thinking about it for the past few days. About me, you and Bara."

"What's the matter with me, you and Bara?"

"If you are with me, Bara will get hurt. But if you are with Bara, I will be hurt. Isn't this complicated?"

What Sam said was true. That's why so that no one gets hurt, Jasmine feels she has to go.

"Don't worry, I won't date any of Bagaskara's sons, including you. Don't worry about unnecessary things."

"Why? Don't you like me?"

"Who knows."

It's tiring. Jasmine looked down and put her forehead on the shoulder Sam.

Luckily they got to the car quickly.

Sam. lowered Jasmine and opened the door for her.

After that, there was no more chat. Sam drives silently, as does Jasmine, who prefers to stare out the window.

Sam's car stopped before they reached the gate, he looked straight ahead with a strange expression.

"Looks like the groom is lost, doesn't he know where the wedding hall is?" mumbled Sam slowly.

Jasmine followed Sam's gaze and saw Jeri there complete with his white tuxedo.

Jasmine also got out of the car when Sam got off.

There, Jeri immediately ran over to Jasmine and hugged the girl tightly.

"Forgive me." Said Jeri softly.

"You came here to say goodbye? Stupid, hurry up, your sweet girl must be anxiously waiting for you!"

Jasmine tried to escape from Jeri's arms, but his body is much bigger than Jasmine's anyway, so what's the point?

"Would you come back to me if I left everything for you?" Jeri's hoarse voice tickled Jasmine's conscience. She felt angry.

Jasmine hit Jeri's head hard enough with her bag, that Jeri let go of her hug and looked at Jasmine with sad eyes.

"Stop babbling and go! You're getting married, you bastard!" cursed Jasmine.

"Jasmine,"

"Stop it, please! Didn't you say it yourself? We're done while you're gone. And what kind of asshole wants to come back after dumping his girlfriend? Don't piss me off!"

"I'm sorry, I'll fix everything!"

"No. Everything's fine now. Can't you see me? I'm beautiful, I wear expensive dresses and shoes, and I have Sam. Get out of my life, don't mess with anything! I don't care if you marry that girl or not, that's for sure, we're over. Don't appear in front of me again!"

Jasmine suppressed the pain in her legs to run as fast as possible leaving Jeri and Sam there.

'What does he think I am? How could he think of coming back after dumping me first? Are all men like that? Do they like to act like that?'

The first thing Jasmine did as soon as she entered the room was thrown those damn high heels off and slam her body onto the bed. She buried herself under the blanket and tried to close her eyes.

"Jasmine, are you sleeping?"

Sam's footsteps came closer and closer.

"Are you sure you don't want to go back with Jeri?" he asked again.

"No kidding!" said Jasmine.

"He still seems to like you."

"That's none of my business and neither of yours. I don't want to talk about this right now. For whatever reason, I'm tired."

"Get some rest. I have to go, maybe I won't be home tonight, so don't wait for me."

Jasmine immediately got up and looked at Sam suspiciously.

"Where are you going?"

"I have to clear something up. All you need to know now is, I might be selfish to make you mine." Sam smiled slightly and walked away.

'Even if you like me too, we will never be together. Don't make me hopeful.'

***

Sam sat beside Jeri after the man's wedding reception was over.

Sam was just silent and took a sip of his wine seeing how frustrated Jeri was because Jasmine refused him.

"Sorry because I meant to take Jasmine from you!" said Jeri slowly.

Sam just smiled faintly as he looked straight at his friend.

"Jasmine is the only girl I like! I'm serious! It's just that I'm too greedy. I just left her like that. I know I'm an asshole!" chirped Jeri.

"Even after this, I'm not sure if I can forget her or not! So if you love her, take good care of her, or I'm going to give up everything I have right now to take her away from you!" Jeri looked straight into Sam's eyes.

Sam just kept sipping his wine. If only Bara didn't like Jasmine, maybe he would make her stay by his side.

Now, how can he take care of Jasmine?

"Sam, did you know? In the past, Jasmine was a rich girl. The company that her father built, grows rapidly and steadily, but one of her father's confidants betrays and spreads all the confidential information belonging to her father's company to her father's rivals. So, her father's company gradually went bankrupt." Jeri took a deep breath.

"The point of my story is she's not born poor! So don't look down on her just because of her current situation! I know how rich your family is, man! I'm just afraid you'll be looking down on her because of her current social status! I?"

Sam laughed lightly at Jeri who was looking at him very seriously.

"Are you drunk? You talk a lot! Take it easy, Jer, we won't look down on your Jasmine just because of her social status!"

Jeri smiled in relief at Sam's answer.

"I entrust Jasmine to you, Sam."

Sam felt suffocated at Jeri's request.
