ROAD TRIP

On the way home, Anne and Stan were talking about the trip they were going to this Sunday. They both decided to go on a little road trip, on the scenic country side. They continued to talk for over an hour since they walked slowly and took detours to nearby cafés and convenience stores. Next thing they knew it was 5 pm and the sun was setting, they walked through the street, it seemed like they were following the glowing sun, they heard nothing other than each other's voices, each other's sweet laughs. Now with Kate is out of Stan's head, he saw Anne's beauty. He's always known that she was pretty, but has never seen himself attracted to her, but he's seen her true beauty now.

Her lips were glistening, it was like all the stars were in her eyes. Her hair flowed with the wind, it was like it was sparkling, she swayed her hair to look at him. Everything seemed to be in slow motion, he was dumbfounded. Her cheeks were nice, and rosy. Her piercings were shining in the sunset. Anne saw him staring at her dumbfounded, almost tripped on a crack on the road. She realizes that Stan is looking at her differently. He is only focused on her, and not his surroundings, to the point where he cant hear anything but her voice, and laughs. He was shaken awake when Anne asked him if he was ok, in which he responded with a yes.

They got to the part of the road where they had to split up since their houses weren't in the same street. Stan offered to walk her home, but Anne insisted, making excuses such as: " The house is messy," or "I have an errand to get to," and also "People might get the wrong idea about us, especially mom," eventually, he gave up, considering all the tragedies that might happen if someone might get the wrong idea. They both waved goodbye, and Stan clarified the plans since Anne had a history of forgetting important details of the trip. As the two lost vision of each other, Anne, couldn't stop blushing,

"Why, why can't I stop blushing, has he noticed? No, he's too much of an airhead to notice, what should I do." Anne thought whilst her face grew redder and redder.

Stan couldn't get his smile off, he wondered what is happening to himself.

"I-I can't be falling for her, I mean yes, she is beautiful, but she's a friend." Stan said denying his feelings, and puts on a face mask so people can't see his huge grin and think that he's evil or something. they both get home safely Stan lied down on his bed still smiling, and Anne was a "blushing mess" to the point where her mom thought she had a fever. They both went to sleep because they're gonna have a long day of packing tomorrow. Before they go to sleep, Stan sends another reminder about the plans.

"Come to my house at 5AM we will be leaving early since it is a long drive, we will take a bus there." Stan messages.

"Oka" Anne replies.

They both slept abundantly. Anne dressed up as soon as she woke up. She left to go shop for the things she "needed". Stan was also getting ready, packing stuff such as: toothpaste, toothbrush, extra clothes, chargers, snacks and water. Anne got home with two bags one of which was filled to the brim with snacks. They both finished packing at 12 noon. Anne had dinner with her family, almost forgot to do her home work and slept at 8pm. While Stan, went to the nearby coffee shop to do his home work.

5:27, Stan finished his home work at 5:27. He figured that he can go for a walk with his remaining time, and so, he packs his things into his bags pays the coffee and lunch, he also added a small tip for allowing him to stay to do his home work and left. He decided to take a walk on the orange tinted roads. He looked back on the happenings this past week, all the happenings, from the misery of his heartbreaks, to marvelous discoveries. For a moment he got mad at himself for forgetting about Kate and getting a bit of a crush on Anne, but soon he was relieved, relieved in the fact that he's free, relieve in the fact that he's over her. He smiles, he remembers the things that happened yesterday, he lights up and goes home, he made some last minute preparations and checks, and at 8 pm, they both sleep.

The next day, Anne wakes up super early, and eats a small breakfast consisting of: a sandwich and yogurt. She does last minute preparations, and says he good-byes to her parents and promises to bring back souvenirs. She locks the door behind her, and inhales the sweet morning air. She starts to walk to Stan's home. She arrives and knocks on the door. No one answered. She starts banging loudly, luckily, she remembered where he keeps his keys, she picks it up and hastily and puts it in, like she's stabbing a person. She blasts through the door, she searches every room and when she gets to Stan's room, she's devastated, she found him on the floor....sleeping.... She laughs and shakes him violently. He finally wakes up to Anne really really close to his face, and turns pale with embarrassment. He gets up without a word, and goes to the bathroom. He calms himself and comes out, blushing a bit.

"H-How did you get in?" Stan murmurs.

"Oh, I have my ways" Anne smirks.

"Wait outside, I'm gonna check some stuff." Stan says while fixing his room.

Anne doesn't say anything, she just leaves. Stan hurries and gets everything checked, and writes a note for his mom that was at work.

"Well, well, did you put cologne on? For whom? For me?" Anne teases, sarcastically.

"No way. After all I didn't shower." Stan says, but he knows that it was half the truth.

They started to walk to the bus station they have a hearty chat. Kate, who does her jogging at this time, sees the two of them, happy, laughing, without her. Anne sees her, but instead of waving hello, she glares at her, it was like her eyes were telling her to leave them alone. Kate just stops jogging, and she feels the tears welling up in her eyes. She tries to stop it, but soon she feels the tears drip down her rosy cheeks. She ran home with her eyes red, her nose stuffy, and her voice was scratchy. Some by passers saw her and though "She definitely got dumped."

Anne and Stan boarded the bus, Anne was overflowing with energy, after a couple of tiring stops, she finally fell asleep. Stan was on his phone scrolling through social media when he had the sudden urge to take a picture of his beautiful, beauty queen like friend. He was about to take the picture when, Anne suddenly smiles.

"Taking a pic of me now aren't cha?" Anne grins.

As soon as Stan hears this, he jolts back into his seat trying to hide his phone in his pocket. Anne seeing this, bursts out with laughter, as she continues to teases Stan, which was now like a tomato. After 30 minutes of humiliation, Anne finally got tired from laughing and leaned back in her chair. Soon Stan also falls into a deep slumber, Anne was the one awake this time, and was on her phone. When suddenly Stan fell into Anne's shoulder, Anne was shocked, and stopped what she was doing to look over. At this point her face was really really red, she was about to wake Stan up, but she liked this so she just leaned her head on his.

They arrived at their destination, in the beautiful country-side. They first booked a hotel for two days and one night. Afterwards, they left the venue, and went to a restaurant to eat a meal. After a hearty lunch, they paid and left to go to a national park nearby.

"IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL ISN'T IT STAN!?" Anne exclaims.

"Y-ya it is..." Stan thinks so to, but he wasn't looking at the view of the vast, salt-water, ocean. He was looking at a even more beautiful view. He was looking at the goddess-like figure in front of him. He eventually tried to switch his focus on the view, when his eyes sparkled, the twilight was astonishing, they've never seen such a sight in the city. Anne looked at Stan, and when she saw him, his eyes were sparkling, it was like she fell love even deeper for him. She suddenly looks back at the twilight all red.

"It's getting late, we should get back to the hotel." Stan suggests.

Anne responds in with a nod as she follows him. They decide not to eat dinner for the time being since they had a late lunch. They got back to the hotel, chatted for a bit, they found some board games, so they decided to play a bit.

"Hey, we can actually have fun without good old Katie huh." Anne chuckled, she was having so much fun that she forgot about the fact that Stan had feelings for Kate.

Stan had a grim look on his face, followed by him standing.

"I need some fresh air." Stan replies calmly with a reassuring smile.

Anne regretted even mentioning Kate, she started to worry once more, so she decided to wait, and wait, and wait. By 10:30 pm Stan has yet to return, but the worst possible thing happened. It started raining, the rain was pouring like a waterfall. Then a bright flash, followed by a deafening boom. Finally, the rain started to cease, and before long, the door opened and Stan walked in, with a soaking shirt, his boots was all muddy, and his hair was glistening, he waved at Anne and went to the shower, Stan said that he got caught in the rain while walking. He went straight for the shower and went to bed.

They both woke up the next day rather pleasantly, is what Anne thought. They decide to take a shower first before they take one last adventure in the country side. Anne went first, then Stan. Anne went out, and Stan got in, but as Anne was drying her hair, she heard a loud thud.

"Stan? You ok in there buddy?" She inquires with a shaky voice.

There was no answer. She knocks on the door, only to realize that the door wasn't locked. She peeped inside, only to see Stan on the floor of the shower, fully clothed, and was soaked. She rushed to help him, only to touch his forehead and realize that he has a really high fever. She jolts her hand, surprised by the fever.

"Woah Stan, you're burning up!" Anne said, as she dragged the seemingly lifeless body onto the bed. "I'm gonna get some medicine. Stay put!" Anne instructed.

She looked in the cabinets and drawers, she came back with some medicine and a thermometer. She put the thermometer under Stan's arm while she read the instructions for the meds. The thermometer beeped and she looked at the temperature.

"37.8 degrees...ok, its goin down. Seems like we can catch the bus." Anne smiles.

Anne gave the medicine to him. She sat beside him on the bed while reading a book. She looked at the time and it was 12:04, and decided that she would be making lunch. She started walking to the kitchen when she felt something pull her hand. She turned her head to see what it was, only to realize it was Stan.

"How are you feeling?" Anne inquired softly.

"Ok I guess heh I dunno know." Stan says hazily.

"I'm gonna make some soup, I will be right back." Anne said hastily.

Before she was able to get up, she saw Stan muttering. She came closer to listen to what he was muttering. "I like you" repeatedly came out of him mouth. Anne jolted back in shock. She walked towards the kitchen and tried to forget about what he said. She came back with two bowls of soup. After they eat, Anne once again asks: "You ok Stan?" and which Stan replies "A bit better"

"I like you Anne." Stan says trying to sit.

"Stan, quit jokin around." Anne replies sternly.

"I ain't jokin." Stan says still not thinking straight.

"Then what do you mean?" Anne replies shakily.

Stan didn't reply, he replied by leaning over towards her and kissed her. Anne couldn't move out of shock.

"What..."
