AFTER-MATH

The next day rolled in, Stan was still in bed and had the same clothes. He went to shower, thinking that going to school might clear his mind. After a warm bath, he put on his uniform and hoodie, and he had a quick breakfast of a sandwich his mom had made for him last night. He left the house, and went to school with the streets looking the same as yesterday, but this time, instead of feeling happy and motivated like yesterday, he felt miserable, like he could collapse at any moment after all, he didn't get enough sleep last night. When he arrived, he saw Anne in the same spot, waving and greeting him, like nothing happened yesterday. Instead of ignoring her, he greeted her with a deep voice.

"Good morning." Stan said blandly

Anne could see his eyes were blood red, and she was shocked. Stan went straight to the classroom and he also met Kate on the way.

"Stan! I have been looking all over for you" Kate says with a shining smile.

He didn't respond, he didn't flinch, he ignored her. Kate felt all this, she felt a depressing aura. She was overwhelmed, she has never seen him like this.

At class Stan kept falling asleep. This same pattern kept happening throughout the week, until Thursday, he didn't come to school. The sight of Stan already hurt Kate and it hurt Anne even more, but now, he didn't come. It hit Kate like a bullet, it hurts, but it was swift, but to Anne, it was a dull sword.

"Maybe he just took a break, he will be back tomorrow" Anne said to herself.

"Maybe it's time to let go." Kate thought to herself with a face of agony, but was shortly interrupted by Isaac, tapped on her shoulder and signaled her to go outside and talk with him. She knew what was about to happen, and she wanted to learn from her mistakes and accept.

"Kate, I asked to talk to you, it's because I would like you to be my girlfriend." Isaac says confidently, with a broad charming smile. Kate expected this, and gave him a straight answer.

"Yes, I will be your girlfriend." she says with a smile.

The class behind them blazes with excitement and glee as they overheard the confession. Everything is according to Isaac's plan. Anne sees this, and knows that if Stan sees this, it will crush him. So, she sends Stan a text. Back at Stan's house, he receives about 20 of the same message of:

"STAN STAN DON'T LOOK AT ANY SOCIAL MEDIA JUST DON'T!!!"

Stan, being our stubborn 16 year old, protagonist, checks all of his social media, and miraculously, he didn't find any posts about Kate at all. So finding nothing interesting, he goes back to sleep, since he is still sleep deprived. Meanwhile, Isaac leaned in, and went for the kiss. Kate is shocked, and this was fuel to an already burning fire. Needless to say, the class went wild, some other classes also joined in on the hype which also alerted some teachers.

The next day rolled around and Stan felt fresh, and was ready to move on, or so he thought. He came to school all fresh, and ready, he met up with a very much worried and confused Anne.

"Good morning Anne!" Stan says with a great smile.

"G-Good morning...." Anne says with a nervous voice

"What's the matter?"

"It's just that Ka-" Anne was interrupted by a slight push. They turn to the main building and see Kate surrounded by a crowd. Stan goes to greet and apologize to Kate, but is interrupted by a tall figure. Stan looks up and sees Isaac, he looks down and asks Stan a question.

"Are you Stan?" Asks Isaac with a broad smile.

"Why yes I am." Stan says while raising an eyebrow. Wondering how a superstar like Isaac recognizes him, after all he is just an ordinary high schooler.

"Have we met or something? 'Cause I don't recall being famous." Stan laughs.

"Well, Kate has told me a lot about you." Isaac smiles.

"Kate? How do you know her?" Stan questioned him.

As soon as he finished saying that sentence, Kate greets Stan, but soon regrets it.

"Hey babe!" Isaac shouts while the girls behind them shouted in excitement, for they can feel thee romance coursing through their veins. Anne tried to pull Stan away, hoping that he didn't hear the sentence he has been dreading due to the loud shrieks. Anne starts to thank the girls in her head while still trying to pull Stan away, but it was too late.

"What is Kate to you?" Stan uttered in fear to hear the words he dreaded. Anne tried to draw his attention away. It worked, sort of, he was facing the other direction, but still heard what Isaac said.

"She's my girlfriend." Isaac smiles.

Everything stopped, as soon as Stan heard it, he didn't hear it clearly because of the crowd, but he heard it loud and clear. Time stopped, everything went blank, he stopped walking, Anne looks back, and sees her friend with a blank face, and is looking on the floor. She expects Stan to be this way in one or two days, but to her surprise, he looked up with a smile.

"I think we should go to class now." Stan smiles. Leaving the very much confused Anne behind. He walks past the crowd, Anne soon follows him.

Everything seemed the same except the fact that Stan ignored Kate, at first, Anne didn't realize it. She realized something was off during the lunch break. Stan seems to be avoiding Kate, but Anne didn't think much about it. The day has finally come to an end. At the gate, Anne and Stan decide to meet up on Sunday. She is suddenly, she is reminded of the thought of Stan avoiding Kate. She thinks that he is doing this because he is still healing from the heartbreak and decides that he is just fine. Oh boy, how far is Anne from the truth.
