"It would make us stronger against Treni." replied Rudsis. "It would be easier to defeat her!"
"I will remain silent whenever you talk about the matter, Rudsis. If you choose to fixate on that, then I ask you to leave me alone again. I have work to do."
"But why?" Rudsis insisted. "Do you not trust me just because I'm a man? Is that fair?"
Afena said nothing and held Rudsis' stare resolutely.
"What if we come across someone's that been blessed by Treni? We haven't got a chance against them."
It was tempting to reply to that. If Afena was with Rudsis, they had every chance of winning no matter who their foe was. But the Inarenta held her tongue and remained silent due to strict self-control she'd managed to develop through long and tedious hours. Even if Afena explained, and even if she was right, people never reacted well to having something denied to them. Very few could keep quiet, and contemplate on the matter.
