"Can I ask you something?" asked Rudsis sitting on the forest floor as he inspected his sword.
"I don't think I've ever discouraged you," said Afena as she whittled a wooden stick into shape.
Rudsis could have said she might have been too busy, or concentrating too much on whatever she was doing to answer, but decided it wasn't worth it to get into a stupid argument. In the end, she was right, and had never discouraged him from asking anything.
"How did you know the name of this sword?"
"I know the names of all the swords that have been given to humans. There are thirty at most. There are also those that have been stolen from their makers, but they don't have names, and I don't know how many of those there are."
"Interesting," Rudsis admitted. "But I didn't ask that."
