Treni had asked Afena if she thought there was any hope for humanity despite all the travesties it had committed, and all the suffering it caused. The goddess was sure she'd have to wait for Afena to think about the question for a moment at least, but the Inarenta answered immediately without faltering or hesitating for even a second.
"No."
Surprised, Treni raised her eyebrows a little, but her whole body loosened up because she heard the answer she'd hoped for, and became interested.
"You know your kind to be doomed, then?"
"Most likely. There's hope, but only as little as a handful of sand when compared to the ocean of contempt I hold for my kind."
"Then why act against me, Inarenta? Why try to help or to save these arrogant monsters that can't see beyond themselves? Wouldn't their existence be better justified if they dedicated their lives to me?"
"It's my turn to ask you if you are as adverse to the truth as humans, Treni."
