Diving into the Darkness

Afena had to collect some ingredients, and then get creative. There were plenty of plants and mushrooms that were able to make people, animals, gods, and even ubtirs see or hear things that weren't really there. The trick in all of this was to make the subject hear or see what she wanted them to.

To do this, she needed to bring all the ingredients together to write runes on them. Resin was very practical for this. Trap the ingredients in it, and let it harden into a plaque. Then, she needed to let the ingredients bask in the sun, or moon, or let it shower in rain water, or let it be stricken by lightning, or whatever other way she could think to imbue it with energy, so that the runes would stay active even if she did not concentrate on infusing it with her own energy to activate it.

Finally, she had to pound all those ingredients into a dust, which she could then put into a little pouch, and use at her discretion.
