Purpose

It took Afena two days to climb over the mountain to get to the opposite side. She had to go out of her way many, many times to find a part of its slope that wasn't too steep and dangerous to attempt climbing. Thankfully, she'd never let the instruction she'd received in survival get rusty, and her sense of direction rarely failed.

Climbing down was just as hard as up, and she cursed the moment she reached the summit, knowing what was in store for her for the following day.

During the whole ordeal, she'd been very conscious of the moon and it position, making adjustments to her location so that when she finally got back down to the foot of the mountain, she'd know exactly where to go.
