Weakness

The following night, Afena and Rudsis approached the plaza. There were no guards guarding the place, at all, and it seemed emptier than usual. Torches in the vicinity were all unlit as well.

"She knows we're here," said Rudsis. "She's inviting us, even."

Afena crossed her arms, thinking. Underneath her Lorsul skin, she was wearing a pair of trousers, and a loose blouse. Both were comfortable clothes that would allow her to move freely in case she had to fight. 

"As you say," she said. "And what we have to decide is whether we confront her now, or try to surprise her some other day. She might know we're here, but we don't have to fight on her terms."

"Do you mean that we should attack her by surprise?"

"It would be safer, yes."

They were walking towards the pyramid. At its foot, Rudsis spoke.
