A Goddess' Trickery

"Why did you not bind me to Rudsis' will?" thought Treni.

The question hanged in her mind, unanswered, of course. The goddess wondered if she could wake Afena to ask her, even after what happened back in Crown. Two days and nights had passed. Surely, the little goddess had had enough time for her head to cool.

Was it worth the risk, however? "In the end, I want to get rid of you," thought Treni. "No matter how much you promise to leave me alone, I know my aunt plots against me. She's the one that set you on the path to topple me, and she'll do so again. For whatever reason, none but one of our fathers wanted to go against humans, and we had to get rid of them.

"What good is it to ask you anything, then, Afena?"
