Ghosts of Guilt

There was absolutely no way in which Selen would be able to step into the ruins of the old Inarenta college. The fact that it was abandoned had nothing...well, at least not directly, to do with gods.

"Even the people you helped and protected betrayed you," thought Selen. The entire place was warded so that gods could not approach within one thousand two hundred paces of the place, but it had been humans that sieged it, and, blessed, thrown boulders to bring it down.

She didn't want to be anywhere near the place in any case, because Treni was, more than likely, checking on her with their connection.

It didn't matter. As long as she was in the same continent, all she had to do was have an animal deliver a book. The trick was in getting an animal that would not be hunted, or attacked by other animals or ubtirs.

"Ah, but that's where my sight of the future comes in incredibly handy. Doesn't it, my good eagle?"
