Afena did not return to the small settlement. Instead, she sat at the foot of a tree, and had spent the whole night there, meditating on what to do. Her heart and mind were torn. One wanted to go back, and forsake the vows she'd made in the past both to herself, and to the order of Inarentas. The other wanted to uphold them, no matter what.
When no resolution emerged from her meditation, she slept and waited in her dreams. Morning broke, and she awakened feeling both frustrated and forsaken. The idea was for Treni to intrude in her dream, but it stood to reason that the goddess wouldn't. Afena made it a point to dream each and every night about what she'd done to Ol to show it to Treni. The goddess never made herself known, but by this point, Afena had no doubt she'd hidden and seen everything she was meant to see.
