Darkness Shrouded Her Eyes

Darkness became an unidentifiable blurry and messy haze of colors, and her neck was in an uncomfortable position.

"Aaa-aaaah. Aaagggh." Afena groaned as she tried to raise her head erect. The neck muscles were sore as they contracted from their pulled condition.

"I'm so sorry." Irimena said in a broken voice.

"Iri, did you cut and poison me?" she asked, genuinely wondering whether it had been a dream or not.

The girl's voice was distorted even further by her crying. "I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry."

"That's fine, don't worry. Aaaaaagh." Afena closed her eyes and moved her head gingerly in a circle. "At least I'm still talking to you."

Afena blinked, and could finally make some sense of the blurry images her eyes caught. They were in Irimena's room. "What happened? Why did you do this to me?"

"Because he rejected me!" Irimena said both wrathfully and quietly.
