A Truce

As it turned out, Treni did not go back to Crown so her worshipers could see her during noon or evening prayers. She stayed seated on Afena's bed, waiting for night to come.

When it did, she tried getting into Afena's dreams. Maybe the Inarenta would not be sleeping, but it was worth trying. Things could be much easier if she was able to speak to her opponent.

Treni came to the same black space in which she'd last talked to Afena, who was sitting in exactly the same way as that last time.

"Why haven't you destroyed that piece of cloth?" the goddess asked.

"Because I know you can't track me with it. I wasn't sure at first, but I knew you'd try to keep getting information from me whenever I let my guard down. Once I killed Ol, I had the perfect use for the cloth."

"Did you truly do to him everything you showed me?"

Afena invited her to sit down with a sweeping gesture of the hand. "I did, yes."
