Well, one of them still survives. And thankfully, her sisters were able to take many of the gods with them. But when a goddess resurfaces to take over the human world, will our heroine accept a call to stop her? Or will she prefer to be left alone and live a simple, peaceful life by herself?

And what will she do if others come expecting her to help? After all, Afena is known to have killed a god by herself. How can she escape that kind of reputation?

"I've known it was you for the past two years now," Afena said deactivating the runes that prevented Treni from speaking. "The others told me to take care of you and Rudsis right then and there, but I wanted to show you we could be friends."

Tilal still could not move, but replied with a broken voice, "If your intention is to make me feel guilty--"

"No." Afena shook her head. "No, not at all. If you were willing to kill someone who did nothing but be kind to you, I doubt anything can make you feel guilty, Treni. I just wanted you to know this so you could respond accordingly."

"Why? Why are you so eager to die?"

"I will not be denied what I want. If I can't have it, then what is the point?"

"You'd choose death simply for being denied the opportunity to meet someone?"
