Third Fail

Despite herself, Alis was completely engrossed by the discussion taking place right before her. She, Afena, and Tilal sat at Afena's dining table. The other two faced each other, but Alis sat between them, recording everything that was said.

"It's just like swords and other weapons," said Tilal. "The lore should be taught to everyone simply because everyone has a right to learn anything they could want to, and no one is in any position to deny them."

"Your argument is flawed from its very basis," Afena responded. "Lore is not just like any weapon. One person with one sword can only do so much damage before he's stopped. One person with lore can do unimaginable damage, and can't necessarily be stopped. And to say that no one is in any position to impart restrictions is naive at best, willfully ignorant at worst. We are not all equal."

"You're saying there's people better than others?" Tilal demanded.
