With a new sense of maturity, I slowly approached the obviously troubled Don.

"Are you okay?" I asked quietly as I calmly sat down next to him. I was pleasantly surprised with the way I was able to talk without the unecessary panic.

For a second, I could have swore I saw a hint of surprise in his voice but before I could confirm, it was gone.

"It's none of your business." He growled out without sparing a look at me.

Okay. Wow.

I was about to stand up and forget all about my merciful side but midway I felt another hand hold my own.

"Im sorry." He spit out, almost as if it hurt him to say those words and ligjly bended me down back on the couch. His hand never left mine.

"It's been a long day."

For a while we sat in silence, hands tangled up together. At the two minute mark, I couldn't take the overbearing silence any longer.

"D-do you want to talk about it?"
