Victoria Garcia was dumbfounded from the moment she heard his transaction. She stared at Arnold Johnson motionlessly in front of her, with a disbelief written all over her face.

He had never seen such a baffled expression on her face before.

After she collected herself, Victoria asked, puzzled, "When my mother initially proposed this deal, you were clearly against it. Why have you agreed to it now?"

Even though she tried to hide it, Arnold noticed the excitement in her eyes, signaling just how much she despised her father and her aunts' family.

"Because I only want to make this deal with you." As Arnold Johnson finished his words, a faint smile appeared around his mouth, revealing a trace of tenderness through his handsome features that was difficult to notice.

Victoria instinctively asked, "Why me?"

"Because you are the future Mrs. Johnson, and this is my betrothal gift to you. Do you like it?" As he spoke, his steps involuntarily moved forward, leaving only a palm's distance between Arnold Johnson and her when he said the last three words.

An ambiguous smell filled the air, along with his scent, which disrupted her thoughts.

Instinctively, she backed away, her face actually turning a hint of red. Before the agreement was signed, she had to keep her cool while maintaining their distance.

"Three years later, after you marry me and I become Mrs. Johnson, it won't be too late to say that."

Although she tried her best to sound calm, the subtle changes in her demeanor couldn't escape Arnold's eyes.

He looked at her and laughed.

It was the first time Victoria had seen Arnold Johnson laugh. She thought when he laughed, not only was he charming, but his laughter also carried a warmth that could melt one's heart. If that laughter was in the eyes of a lover, it would mean constant and unwavering love.

As these thoughts unconsciously surfaced in her mind, Victoria found it hard to believe that her views on Arnold Johnson changed just because of a smile.

How is that possible! Victoria denied it in her heart. She told herself that she must have found him less "scummy" simply because he had just agreed to take down Brown Group.

Yes, that must be it! Victoria mentally pressed the confirmation button on her imagination once again.

Without any hesitation, Arnold Johnson signed his name on the agreement and then stamped his personal seal on it.

Handing her the agreement, he whispered, "You don't need to worry about my capabilities. In three years, you will be Madam Johnson."

Victoria took the agreement and saw his seal on it, which reassured her. As her eyes fell on his writing, it was strong and flexible, written beautifully.

Just as she marveled at his beautiful handwriting, Arnold asked, "Which side of Metropolis would you like to live in?"

By that, he meant to provide her with a home and a place to settle down, a golden house to hide his beloved wife.

On a deeper level, from now on, they would be living together.
