Chapter 5 Mark Potato and the Vengeance Kid

Mark and Gabe had their stuff packed, "Don't worry deputy he is in good hands." The Deputy smiled. "I know, I'm just gonna miss his stupid ass back in Watersville." Gabe looked angry. "I'M NOT GONNA MISS YOU, YOU SECOND-RATE ASSHOLE!" Mark and the Deputy laughed. 'It really will be weird without him, without his trouble.' He then remembered all the good times he had, stopping Gabe in the village from doing stupid things and just having a fun time. "Hey, Gabe…" Gabe looked up confused. "What? What do you want?" The Deputy then shed a tear. "Come back to Watersville one day when you're safe." Gabe began to tear up as well. "Don't ever forget about the people who raised you, will ya?" Gabe then smiled while tearing up, he then stuck his thumb up. "I PROMISE TO NEVER DIE UNTIL I SEE YOU ALL AGAIN!" The Deputy's tears then became crying, he then hugged Gabe and the two had a moment. "Good, now go...be a bounty hunter." Gabe and Mark were off, on their journey, into the west.

Just as everyone began to leave, a mysterious dark cloaked figure stood in the shadows, unseen by everyone. "So, I'll have to report back and suggest the boy shall not be harmed for his bounty." he then put his hands together, he then disappeared from thin air, nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, Mark and Gabe are walking through the desert on their journey. "So, kid tell me a bit about yourself. Don't forget we just met." Mark noticed that Gabe was still shaken up by the death of the Lone Stranger, so he attempted to change the subject to help ease the mood. "Well, my name is Gabe no Lastname." Mark was confused. "Is that your actual last name kid?" "No, I just never had a last name. Since I was born in Watersville." Mark was still confused. 'Really, so he did that.' Mark thought to himself. "So, tell me about Purple Reaper," Gabe asked. "Well, it was a group founded by me and my sworn friend, the First Sheriff." Gabe kept listening as he had been wanting to ask this question since he met Mark. "Together we were an unstoppable duo who took the west by storm until we disbanded." Gabe wondered. "Why did you disband?" Mark didn't answer, he just kept walking with a serious expression. "Tell me about the first Sheriff then. What was he like?" Mark thought about him, the First Sheriff. "He was an outstanding bounty hunter, one of the best, and he was an even better friend…." Mark was then silent again, implying he didn't want to talk more about the First Sheriff. "Well kid, first things first we gotta talk about you and your bounty." Gabe thought he would finally answer the question he wanted to be answered. "I can't tell you a lot of things kid, at the request of the Second Sheriff." Gabe then got disappointed. "What I can tell you is that the people coming after you are ruthless and will do whatever it takes to have you in their hands." Gabe was surprised, he wondered why people were going after him, a young, weak, stupid child with nothing special. "Which is why I'm here!" Gabe was still a bit confused since the explanation wasn't really that good of an explanation. "I'm gonna try my hardest to train you so you can at least have half of the skill I have." Gabe then felt a jolt of confidence. "Drunken Master? Where are we going?" Gabe asked. "To find a bounty. Once we find one, we'll go after it and use them as a training exercise." Gabe understood, but he was nervous to go after somebody who had a bounty for a reason. "Oh also kid." Gabe looked up at Mark. "STOP CALLING ME DRUNKEN MASTER! I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT MY NAME IS MARK POTATO THE RED TERROR!" Gabe got angry, what did he expect him to say? "WELL, I WOULD STOP CALLING YOU DRUNKEN MASTER IF YOU WEREN'T SUCH A PATHETIC DRUNK!" The two argued comedically the entire trip until they eventually reached a village. The village's name was Ironsville, and it looked to have lots of people living in it. "First things first kid, we need supplies for a long trip in the West, like food, water, and shelter. The two were walking down the main street of the village, all while a figure was watching them on a rooftop. "That's the Red Terror of Purple Reaper." The figure smiled. "Well then, guess I gotta make my move."

Mark was at a food market buying meat while Gabe just sat there and waited, he didn't think much of this place as it was just an ordinary village. Just then, a boy wearing a black cloak appeared in front of Gabe and was looking directly at him. It had been the same boy who was watching them from the rooftop before, he had been wearing a black cloak over his clothes, he wore black boots, black pants, a black shirt, brown spikey hair, and a strange symbol on the back of his cloak that looked like a white fist. Gabe noticed that the boy had serious eyes, he clearly meant business and looked like he wanted to fight. "Who are you?" The boy at first said nothing, he just stared at Gabe. "Why would I tell you my name? I don't know your name, and that makes you a nobody to me." Gabe started to get angry at this kid. "Anyways, I don't speak to nobody's, I only speak to somebody's." That hit Gabe hard, making him extremely angry. "You asshole! I'm gonna kick your ass!" Mark overheard this and grabbed Gabe from the back by his shirt collar. "HEY LET ME GO, DRUNKEN MASTER! I'M GONNA KICK THIS GUY'S ASS!" The boy looked at Mark. 'Master? This kid is his student?' Mark had enough. "Hey! Kid, what the hell are you on about?" Gabe kept struggling. "THIS ASSHOLE CAME TO ME AND STARTED LOOKING AT ME! THEN HE SAID I WAS A NOBODY! SO I'M GONNA KICK HIS ASS!" Mark felt embarrassed for everyone in the village that heard this kid scream. "You misunderstand, nobody." Gabe then stopped for a second as he heard him. "I'm not here for you, I'm here for the Red Terror." Gabe was confused. "Hey kid, I would appreciate it if you don't call me that in public." The kid looked like he was scared after hearing something. "Terribly sorry sir!" Mark wondered who this kid was, he needed answers.

After getting food from the market, Mark and Gabe followed this kid to his house, which had looked like a house that only ghosts haunt. "If you don't mind me asking kid? Why is your house so empty?" The boy said nothing, he only led them to his bedroom. "Please sit on the bed sir, if that's alright with you." Mark then did so, "Can I sit on it too?!" The boy frowned. "No, only people who are somebody's can sit on that bed." Gabe got angry. "Alright, take it, easy kid. I wanna hear what he has to say." The boy was silent for a second. 'When that kid's back was toward me I saw that symbol on his back, is he who I think he is?' Mark referred back to the white clenched fist on his back. "You probably have questions, like who I am? What do I want? Or Why I brought you here? Well, I will answer them right now." Mark and Gabe began listening. "My name is Leroy Suden." Mark was shocked after hearing that name. 'It is! He is a part of the great Suden family! One of the most powerful families in the west!' Leroy kept explaining. "I am 13 years old and am that last surviving member of the Suden family." Gabe was confused. "What's the Suden family?" Leroy got angry. "HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW ABOUT ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL AND INFLUENTIAL FAMILIES IN THE WEST!" Mark then took it upon himself to explain. "Leroy, he actually is valid without knowing this as he did grow up in Watersville, so this is all kinda new to him." Leroy stopped yelling after he heard. 'This kid is from the town founded by the First Sheriff?' He thought as he looked at Gabe. "Well, regardless. I am the last surviving member of the Suden family and let me reassure you, there is a reason for that." Mark was confused. 'Many years ago, the Suden family was at the top of the food chain when it came to bounty hunters, even the government feared them! So what the hell could have happened?' Mark thought in his head. "The reason my family is dead is because of my father." Mark was in shock. "Kid? Your name is Leroy right?" Leroy was a bit annoyed. "I just said that, but yes." Mark was even more terrified than he already was. "Then wouldn't your father happen to be named Renroy Suden?" Leroy nodded in response to Mark, making him absolutely terrified. Meanwhile, Gabe was just sitting there confused, wondering what was going on. "Who is Renroy Suden?" Mark didn't speak at first, along with Leroy. "Let's just say kid, he is one of the 3 most powerful bounty hunters in the world." Mark had said, making Leroy shocked. "Even I could never measure up to him," Mark said, making Gabe frightened. "Well, the thing is you won't measure up to him, because you won't fight him." Mark and Gabe looked back at Leroy with confusion. "Master Red Terror?" Leroy asked as he went on his knees, making Mark confused. "Will you train me to be a strong bounty hunter so I could one day get revenge on my father for his actions?" Mark rose, he looked as serious as ever with his face. 'Is he gonna train him?' Gabe wondered, Leroy also wondered the same thing. "No," Mark said firmly.

"What do you mean no!?" Leroy yelled angrily, he clearly did think very highly of Mark, since of course, he was a great bounty hunter. "First off, I already got a student and I have a reason for him being with me." Leroy looked at Gabe angrily, Gabe looked back at Leroy and smiled very uncomfortably. "Secondly, you have no idea what Renroy is capable of on his own." Leroy then began to cry with an angry face. "You're wrong! I know exactly what he is capable of because I've seen it!"

Leroy was playing with a teenager who looked a bit like him, they had been playing with a slingshot trying to hit metal cans. Unsurprisingly, 4-year-old Leroy didn't hit a single one, while the other boy on the other hand hit them with exact aim. "Oh darn Juroy! I wish I was older!" Juroy patted him on the head. "You will be someday, and you'll even be better than me." Leroy didn't believe it, his brother was an amazing kid. He was extremely smart, skilled, and on top of that, he was a part of the Suden family. "Boys! Dinner!" Juroy and Leroy looked at each other with smiles, they then ran toward the door. "I'm gonna win this time Juroy!" Juroy laughed, "I hope you do!" Leroy was closer and closer and closer until he was beaten by Juroy. They both walked inside after their race and Leroy looked at Juroy with anger. "Hey, don't be sad Leroy." Leroy then began to cry, this caught the attention of Leroy's mother. "Leroy! Don't cry! Remember! It's alright!" She tried her best to help him stop crying for some reason, almost like she was trying to prevent something, but it was too late. "Leroy, are you crying?" A tall muscular man with extremely long black hair, a long black beard, no shirt on except for his 6 pack muscles, black pants, black boots, and a clenched fist scar on his right man boob. Leroy's mother looked horrified at this man as he entered the room, along with Juroy. "Were you or were you not crying!?" The man asked again, Leroy immediately stopped crying when he first heard his voice, holding back his tears and faked smiling. "Um, no sir! I am not crying, I never was crying!" The man looked at Leroy very sternly, not looking away for a second. "Leroy, what have I told you about lying to your father?" Leroy was frozen in fear. "Not to do it?" The man kept looking sternly at Leroy. "Well then, I believe you need to be taught a lesson, Leroy." Leroy was still frozen in fear, the man then pulled back his fist and threw a punch, only to hit Leroy's mother. "MOTHER!" Leroy and Juroy screamed. "You boys are weak! You are a disgrace to the Suden family! I've had enough of this weakness!" He then threw a punch at Leroy, all Leroy saw was his life flashing before his eyes, but he never got hit. It turns out that Juroy got in the way of that punch, after that he could barely stand. Leroy looked at his brother as he turned toward Leroy with his face being completely destroyed. Most of his teeth were knocked out, his nose broken, blood coming from his eyes and mouth, and a smile he looked at Leroy with as he collapsed next to him. "You put yourself above your brother!?" The man went on a rampage as he smashed through the entire house like the hulk. "Brother…" Juroy said very weakly. "I could tell...Mom is dead…" This made Leroy even more upset as he began to cry again. "Why did you do that!? You would be fine if you didn't do that!" Juroy just smiled with his broken teeth. "Because I couldn't watch you die.." Leroy was confused. "From the second you were born into the world...I wanted nothing to ever happen to you...and...you are my younger brother...and had your whole life ahead of mine….so I made the sacrifice..." Leroy kept crying. "It's gonna be ok big brother, I'll get you out of here." Leroy then began pulling Juroy out of the house, when all of a sudden, the ceiling crashed down on them and fire began to spread. The house was now on fire with lots of wood everywhere, burying everyone. Leroy emerged from the wood that was piled in fear, he began coughing for a minute from the smoke. "JUROY!" He then heard noises come from another pile, which is where he went. Leroy then began to dig through the wood to find Juroy, until he eventually did. "Come on Juroy! I'm gonna get you out of here!" Leroy pulled Juroy as hard as he could, but he was too heavy to pull. "Listen to me brother…" Leroy wouldn't stop pulling. "I said listen to me!" He then coughed after yelling, but it did get Leroy's attention. "Get out of here…live your life…" Leroy kept crying. "But I don't want to leave you, brother." Juroy Smiled once again at Leroy. "It's ok, all I want is for you to be happy. That's what big brothers are for, to take care of their little brothers." Leroy hugged Juroy for the very last time. "Now...go…" Leroy ran out of the house as fast as he could and watched from a distance as it was engulfed by flames. Hours later, Leroy went to the house to see what was left, and there was nothing. Everything had been damaged and burnt. Leroy then found the corpses of Juroy and his mother Elaroy. Leroy used a piece of wood and a rope to pull the bodies outside where they were buried. Leroy made the graves himself, putting his own inscription on a rock. "I love you Momma, and I love you big brother. Rest in peace." Leroy kneeled over the grave and began to cry again. "You're still crying?" Leroy turned around in horror when he realized who's voice that way, it was his father, the one who caused the accident, Renroy Suden.

Leroy got on his feet and put his fists up, he had still been crying but was angry as hell. "YOU SON OF BITCH! YOU KILLED MY BROTHER!" Leroy ran over to Renroy with his fist ready to punch, only for him to get punched by Renroy. The punch was clearly lighter than the one he used on Elaroy and Juroy as he did survive, but he did have blood coming from his nose. He was now on the ground and too much in pain to get up. "Why did you do this...why?" It then started to rain, and the sky went dark. "Because the Suden family is weak. They never stand for their own ideals..when I heard you cry, all I saw was weakness among our strong and proud family, but now I realize that this family is weak and the only strong one in it is me." Leroy was even angrier than ever, Renroy proceeded to pick him up by the head, to which Leroy looked at Renroy with eyes that looked to be made of fire. Leroy's arm proceeded to set on fire. "Is that really why you did it?!" Renroy noticed the arm, he was curious about something. "YOU BASTARD!!!!" Leroy punched Renroy with his flame arm, which made Renroy let go of Leroy and get pushed back 1 yard on the ground. Leroy was on his feet over his father, looking angrier than ever, but relieved now that he was dead, or so he thought? Renroy proceeded to get up looking unfazed by that punch, leaving Leroy terrified. Renroy walked closer and closer to his son, only to pat his head. "You have potential…" Leroy was confused, why didn't he kill him? "That ability you just used is the Suden family witch power, it is known as Hell Flames." 'Hell Flames?' He thought to himself. "A Witch gave your Grandfather this power to the whole family, but out of the entire Suden family, you were the only one to unlock it besides me." Leroy wondered. "Did you start that fire in the house with this power?" Renroy nodded. "As I said, I see potential in you. I pronounce you a true Suden by heart and therefore will keep you alive." Leroy got angry. "What do you mean you will keep me alive?!" Renroy looked at Leroy dead in the eyes. "I am going to kill the rest of the Suden family, all except me and you." Leroy was shocked. "You're going to kill the rest of the family!?" Renroy nodded. "It is imperative that I eliminate the weaklings in our family so that we could be a purified family." Renroy patted Leroy again. "Anyways, I am going to leave now so that I will do what needs to be done, for the good of the family." He then began to walk off. "You can't just leave you, bastard!? What about me!" Renroy then stopped, but didn't turn around, he only spoke. "You? Well, if you really feel that strongly of our family's weak ideals, then face me one day." Leroy wondered what he meant at first. "One day, when you get strong enough, come face me at full power. Only the strongest Sudens shall rule the family name." Renroy then walked off into the West and was never seen by Leroy again. Renroy's only appearance in Leroy's life from then on was news of him becoming one of the 3 most dangerous bounty hunters of all time.

Gabe felt upset after hearing that, he thought the best way to help this situation was to comfort Leroy. "Are you ok Leroy?" Leroy looked as if he didn't care for Gabe's sympathy. "All I want in life right now is to get revenge on him, and I can't think of anyone better to train me than the Red Terror himself." Mark thought it over, he then decided. "Alright Leroy, you can be my student." Leroy smiled, "Alright!" Gabe also smiled. "What are you smiling about?" Gabe then got annoyed by Leroy and stopped smiling.

After Leroy packed his stuff, he went to the gravestone of his brother and mother. Leroy bowed to the stone and even said. "I promise you, I will get him back for what he did and I will finally put you all to rest." Leroy then walked to Gabe and Mark, they all proceeded on to the west. "So, we should be on our way and onto our first bounty together." Gabe smiled. "Yeah!" Leroy gave a meh face like he didn't really care, and Mark thought to himself. 'This is gonna be hard training two kids...' They then went off into the west.

Meanwhile, in the unknown town

The Lone Stranger walked out of the building the figure on the throne was on, he was holding the WANTED poster of Gabe, looking at it. 'Damn, new conditions to the bounty state that if the boy is harmed in any way, the person who attempts to capture the boy will receive a bounty themselves that is 5 times greater than his.' This made the lone stranger angry, but he needed that money. 'Very well then, I've been saving this so I won't die, but if I must do it for my survival, then so be it.' The Lone Stranger then vanished in thin air. The Man on the throne then smiled. "I will get that money one way or another.."
