Chapter 41: Braeden

Sometimes you just had to take matters into your own hands. Oliver had done a pretty good job teaching Cassandra how to use his and Kyler's elements. He taught her how to tap into their souls to pluck away pieces of their elements. But my elements were different. Only I could teach her how to gain access to my wind and light.

I left a note in her bathroom she was sure to see. It was simple: Meet me at Aurelius'.

I took a seat on the small rock wall surrounding the front of Aurelius' house, my legs dangling, the sun warm against my face. For some reason I thought about my parents, something I often did when I was alone. It went without saying that I missed them. Missed the family dinners together and family trips. I took those things for granted back then, but as a kid you never really knew you were taking anything for granted. You worried about today because tomorrow would take care of itself.
