Chapter 47: Cassandra

"What're you talking about, brainiac? You said the security system was fooled." Dash wiped the sweat from his temples.

"Yeah, but I wasn't expecting her to set manual traps. This is going to take brains and brawn."

"I've got that covered," Dash said.

Kyler scoffed, "You have half that covered."

I moved to the front of the line, next to Oliver. "Tell me you know which floor she is on."

Oliver nodded. "Of course I do. The very top."

I peeked down the hallway around the corner. "I don't see anything. It looks safe."

"That's the problem. You see the horizontal slits it the walls?"

I looked again. "Shit. It's a trap."

"And there's anti-magic matter along the edges of the wall." He looked at the others. "Our magic won't work here."

Kyler moved to the front and stepped out into the hallway. He studied the slits. "How do we turn it off?"
