Chapter 36: Cassandra

"What if they're lost?" I asked and stuffed my old clothes into a bag. We'd been arguing for almost fifteen minutes, time that should have been spent trying to head back to the academy. "They should have been here by now. And I feel responsible for them being out there in the first place. I need to go find them."

"You're the most impatient woman I've ever met!" Nicolette had no room to talk. At times, she was a bull in a china shop. And telling her to wait on anything was like telling a dog not to touch the bowl of food on the floor while you were out shopping. She listened only to herself. "What if you go out there and get lost for another two weeks? What then? Then we're all out looking for you while Edius is on his next rampage."

"I know my way back to the academy," I said calmly, knowing I didn't. She had a point, but I wasn't going to tell her that.

"Why're you two always arguing?" Ruby asked. "You're like some old married couple. Who's sleeping on the couch tonight?"
