Chapter 38: Oliver

Marching into my father's kingdom without some semblance of a plan in mind was a disaster in the making. Luckily, I'd talked them out of going straight to battle. I assured everyone I could come up with a plan or a strategy. I knew both men we needed to confront. The good father I remembered, and the man who was terrorizing the world.

The good father had been at the top of his graduating class at Premiere Wizard Academy thirty years ago. His classmates looked up to him and tried to mimic his magic. But none could. That was what made him so special. His magic came from the heart, and it couldn't be replicated by another practitioner. Before he became the terrorizing man, his picture hung on the walls of the academy. The academy had even invited him back after graduation to teach a magic strategy class. He went on to teach at the academy for another five years, building a reputation known round the world. Unfortunately, that reputation had changed.
