***Chapter 2***
Tomiko's Perspective.
"If this everything here is real, then… It is possible for me to die in this world too."
I was sitting in bed, immersed in thought about my current situation within the Genshin Impact world. My eyes wouldn't leave the stare on the cut I had, and it was the very reason I understood this wasn't a dream.
My blood was still flowing freely in my palm, fresh and bloody. My thoughts started sinking about this world that is impossible to be real. There are only two reasons that I'm here. Just like in novels and manga's, if I hadn't been summoned by someone, then the best reason why I am here is probably that I died in real life. This is what they call Isekai.
(A/N: If confused what is Isekai, Isekai is a sub-genre of fantasy in which a protagonist, or group of characters, end up in a fantasy world from the real world.)
"No."
As much as I want to die, it is hard for me to accept everything. I don't want to die like this all of the sudden.
My eyes welled up with tears. I didn't see it until it dripped down my palm, imbued with my scarlet, viscous blood. It's not that I'm upset because I'm here in the world where the person I like was, "Is he even a person?" This is all a game, after all. It's difficult to accept that I'm now a part of it.
I'm crying because I left that world without saying farewell.
I know many won't care about me, but perhaps there are some who do. I just don't have any idea who they were.
A tap on the door chimed unexpectedly. "Knock... knock..."
"Master Diluc has arranged a breakfast for Young Miss." We've been directed to accompany you to the dining area. We'll be waiting for you."
It surprised me when the NPC—no, I should stop calling them NPCs now that I'm a part of this world. Sigh. The servants are calling for me. Not to mention that Diluc has already prepared meals for me. It is preferable not to keep them waiting.
I wiped my tears away as I checked myself in the mirror to see if I didn't seem haggard after crying. "Ugh..." Nevertheless, as I suspected, I'd ruined this girl's lovely face. My eyes were puffy. I'll simply avert my head so they don't notice. Concerning my cut, I found a handkerchief on the table and wrapped it around my hand.
The sting from the wound remained, but it didn't matter. I made my way out of the room where I was staying. The maids' eyes widened and were more fascinated in me. "Such a lovely young lady," one of the maids exclaimed.
Uh, she didn't notice my swelling eyes?
"Please follow us."
I did what they said. We are now on the second floor. I didn't realize one of the rooms that were forbidden to open throughout the game was a guest room.
While we were out walking. My thoughts began to consider a way to live here. First and foremost, I need a home. I am not a resident of Monsdtadt or any other country. However, since I've arrived here, this is where I'll begin my new life. The second thing that came to mind was Job. It will be difficult to find work in this era. The traveler saved the Monsdtadt from Dvalin, Dragon of the Monsdtadt's four winds back then. He rose to prominence and was honored Honorary Knight of Favonius.
The Traveler met Amber before entering the city of freedom, and she taught him the fundamentals of their way of life. Of a nutshell, that was the first tutorial in the game. However, I can't say this world was entirely a game system. There is no hp gauge that I can see, and even the NPCs' names are obscured. This is similar to the real world, but with magic.
Sigh.
I don't have Paimon. If I took the role of the Traveler, and I am the actual Traveler right now then, I should have Paimon and I won't end here.
As my gaze wandered across the area, the maids came to a halt. I just realized we were on the first floor. There is a small door here that resembles a basement entrance in some ways. When the maid opened the door, they both turned to face me.
"Please."
I'm a little puzzled. They were all staring at me as though they wanted me to walk into that room. "T-thank you..." It appears that I have no choice but to do what they want. I was the only one who resumes toward the basement-like space.
This is making me nervous.
"They didn't prepare something shady here, right?"
It was stupid of me to think something ridiculous about Diluc. In the game, Diluc is a serious-adult who does not indulge in idle discussion. In fact, a lot of people don't like him all that much. Maybe that includes me.
When I was playing Genshin Impact, I envied one of the players who came to see me in my world. I noticed he was using Diluc. I even complimented him on his hunky character. He did, however, tell me that he received Diluc because he lost in a 50/50 pity. I wasn't sure what he was talking about at that time because I hadn't pulled in the Gacha just yet.
Soon I finally understood what he was talking about.
[Currently Eating while reminiscing.]
When I used my 80 intertwined fates to pull in Venti's banner, instead of obtaining Venti in the limited banner, I got Diluc instead. I was excited to fly with Venti at that time, but Mister Batman destroyed everything!
That's why I had to wait till Venti's re-run. Although it took several days, it all paid off when Venti came home.
"But Diluc is such a good guy." Hm. I won't complain about that. I just didn't think he was this considerate to prepare breakfast for a stranger like me.
"I felt a stomach pain simply looking at this pile of food prepared just for me. It's not that I don't appreciate it, but isn't this too much for just me?" I just ate without paying attention. "Ah! Sweet Madame dish!" now, I just realized that I am eating one of my favorite dishes in Teyvat.
Sweet Madame is my favorite food. I always cook back in the game because it's easy and the recipes' needs were just that so handy. The hp recovery it gives is also minimal to good but I won't complain, it still saves my characters.
Back to the Job, perhaps I might ask Katheryne. She always gives the Traveler a commission back in Genshin. Perhaps joining a Guild will provide me a commission that I can use to help people.
"Hm. Let's do that!"
I was all fired up that I couldn't help but drop both of my hands on the table.
[Blag]
"However, I can't do that here. I need to go to the city of Monsdtadt."
An older looking maid who's wearing a different type of maid-clothing has entered the room. "Going to the city might be a dangerous quest for you, Young Lady," she said.
"W-what do you mean?"
"Lately, the monsters are acting rather violent and aggressive toward humans. You should just wait for Master Diluc's return."
Wait. Aren't hilichurls and abyss mages always violent? For whatever reason, they despised humans. That is nothing new to me; if they start attacking, I will simply fight back. But, on second thought, does this body know how to fight? No—, I'm using it, so I should ask myself that question.
Do you know how to fight? Obviously, no.
Ugh… this is kind of annoying. Anyways, it's not I have any other choice. I'm still going.
"I can't wait for his return. I'm sorry, but even I… have matters to do."
The maid nodded. "I see. Then I don't think I can stop you. You can go, our gardener is actually going to the city to buy some seeds. You can go with him."
"R-really! T-thank you!"
So, after I wrapped up breakfast. I bid farewell to the maids in Dawn Winery.
"Thank you very much!" I was waving at them as I was sitting in the cart that was moved by some sort of balloon. "I'll make sure I will visit Diluc!" I was smiling and all, they were only smiling back at me.

I'm glad that nothing happened on the road. Perhaps, we're lucky after all.
[Arrived at Monsdtadt]
"Thank you, Mister!"
"No problem. Ahaha!"
I sighed to myself after saying goodbye to the man who had brought me to the city of freedom. The city is behind me, behind the massive gate. I'm nervous, so my heart started thumping loudly. But this is the city of freedom, and I'm both excited to meet the characters I've only seen in the game and nervous because I'm not sure if I'll be able to talk to them.
This is it. My life is basically going to start here.
I decided to turn behind to see the huge wall of the first city traveler has stepped on.
"I got a tragic life in my past life and now, I'm given another chance to do better in this life…

This time I will have a good life!"
