Alice fluttered her eyes as she started to wake, trying to figure out where she was. The lights were bright and white and Alice realized she was back at the office. Alice coughed as she pushed herself up from the sofa and still felt the pain around her neck. Alice tried piecing together what had happened as she looked around the room before remembering Sammy.


“Sammy,” Alice called out but her throat hurt and she could barely get Sammy’s name out without coughing. Alice tried to look around but found it difficult to move,  but then suddenly felt a hand grabbing her shoulder. Alice turned slowly, and it was Sammy, holding a cup of water. 


“Hey, are you okay?” Asked Sammy, as she put the cup down on the table beside the sofa and sat down next to Alice. “Don’t strain yourself, you took a couple of heavy blows.”
