Alice packed her bag at the end of the day but never broke eye contact with Ophelia, still sitting in her office. Who is this woman? Alice kept asking herself. What was her relationship with Oliver? Did she know about the curse, and if so, did that put Alice in danger?
Alice got lost in contemplation and was easily startled when Sammy came up from behind to greet her.
“Hey, I'm heading out,” said Sammy. “These rich guys do have the best mattresses, but there’s just something about your own bed, you know?”
Alice laughed. “Yeah, I know what you mean.”
“Did you manage to speak to Ophelia about Jason?” Asked Sammy.
Alice felt nauseous hearing both those names and felt like vomiting, but fortunately, managed to keep it down.
“I’ll speak to her tomorrow,” said Alice, knowing it was a lie. She had no intention of telling Ophelia what happened because at the moment, she couldn’t be trusted.
“Okay, I’m glad you’re speaking up. What are you going to do tonight?” Asked Sammy.
